Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

I was only half comitted to running this a.m. Set the alarm and if I felt good decided I'd go. My husband and two youngest girls left for the weekend last night. I am going to catch up to them today. So I got to bed quite late (teenage daughter at home) at 6:00 a.m. middle childs alarm clock goes off loudly...arggg! go shut it off ( I think) back to bed. Ten minutes later daughters alarm goes off again, go push lots of buttons and hope for the best, go back to bed. Lay down and decided to check other daughters alarm clock, doesn't appear to be set, go back to bed. Just fall to sleep, my alarm goes off....decide I am too tired turn it off (I know how to run my own alarm) try to go to sleep. Just start to doze again youngest daughters alarm goes of, not terribly loud, cover my head with pillow, after a few minutes of that, decide that I'm suffocating and can't breath, I could be doing the same thing and getting some exercise at the same time... give in and go running!!!! Happy long weekkend!!!!!

Ha ha ha ha ha! Oh how terrible! I hate alarm clocks! We just got a new one, and I know how to work it when I'm completely lucid, but when I'm still half asleep (i.e. every morning) I can't seem to find the right button. Very frustrating way to start the day. But great job getting out there! Who would suspect that running 4.5 miles would ever seem like the path of least resistance?

Too funny! My husband uses his cell phone as an alarm and its gotten to where I hate all the rings because I associate them all with waking me up! But maybe it was a blessing in disguise to make you get your run in? Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
