Today my run did not feel very good. The first three or so miles were very hard, my legs, calves were tight. It felt a bit better around mile 4 or five, but still was not a great feeling run. Don't know what it was, just very heavy tired legs.

Probably still tired from Saturday race.

I forgot you raced on Saturday. With a baby with croup, it has been a LONG time sinces Saturday :)

Marion I like the term molasses monday LOL that fits the way so monay mondays feel. :)

Sasha, you are probably right, you would think that having Sunday off would help with the recovery, but maybe you are still in a bit of recovery, in the begining of the week. I will probably do a bit shorter miles today.

Marion, Hope you little one gets feeling better. It's hard to have a sick baby.

I know I am new to running, but it takes me about four running days before I feel normal again. Although my last 5 k was not like that at all, or at least not to noticeable.

One day off may not be enough after a hard race. This is not unusual. To recover, I would not necessarily reduce the volume, but rather the intensity. In some cases, cross-train for part of the workout. Depends on the nature of the fatigue.
