I took the puppy for a short walk this morning and did not feel the pull in my leg. I think that means it is healing. I do feel my piriformis today and a pain I have had in front of the right hip - but I am hoping that is also a sign that they are healing.
Just received an email that the 'Across the Years' race over New Year's in Phoenix is not going to be held this year. I was actually considering it - so can now take that potential race off my calendar.
Chiropractor again after work.
Biggest Loser finale tonight!
I received this in an email and think it is fantastic!
A lecturer when explaining stress management to an audience,
Raised a glass of water and asked 'How heavy is this glass of water?'
Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.
The lecturer replied, 'The absolute weight doesn't matter.
It depends on how long you try to hold it.
If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem.
If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm.
If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.
In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it
becomes.'
He continued,
'And that's the way it is with stress management.
If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later,
As the burden becomes increasingly heavy,
We won't be able to carry on. '
'As with the glass of water,
You have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again.
When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.'
'So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down.
Don't carry it home.
You can pick it up tomorrow.
Whatever burdens you're carrying now,
Let them down for a moment if you can.'
So, my friend, Put down anything that may be a burden to you right now.
Don't pick it up again until after you've rested a while.
Here are some great ways of dealing with the burdens of life:
* Accept that some days you're the pigeon,
And some days you're the statue.
* Always keep your words soft and sweet,
Just in case you have to eat them.
** Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be
"Recalled" by their maker.
* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again,
It was probably worth it.
* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to be kind to others.
* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time,
Because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
* Nobody cares if you can't dance well.
Just get up and dance.
* Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.
* The second mouse gets the cheese.
* When everything's coming your way,
You're in the wrong lane.
* Birthdays are good for you.
The more you have, the longer you live.
* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
*A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

I am super excited about BL finale!! Who are you routing for?
From maurine on Tue, May 12, 2009 at 11:00:14 from 63.255.172.2
I'm voting for Tara because I think she has proven her superiority and ability to kick butt all along. I don't like Mike and I get tired of Helen bawling all the time.

I am Tara all the way too. I like Mike okay but his Dad is BAD!!! I really have not liked him from day 1. Helen is Crazy!! Wouldn't you love to work out with Jillian for a week and get your butt kicked over and over and over again? I think it sounds like great fun.

It would be perfect if I could be at the ranch for 1-3 weeks and see what I am made of. They need a Biggest Loser for buff people.

Maurine, my dear- I LOVED that story. I am going to post it to my ww blog. I needed that today :) Your the best!
YEAH!!! I am so glad that everything is healing :) Sometimes as the tight-bum (piriformis) heals other guys in the hip region get irritated, so be sure to stretch all those dudes :)

I agree with the BL for buff people!! How many of us fight and fight to get off the last 5-10 and never can?!? I'd jump on that boat so fast it'd make your head spin :) My vote is for Tara too :)
I am so impressed with your post! I LOVE it!!! You are an amazing woman, and I hope things work out for Ogden and those aches and pains go away quickly!!!

I am sorry you are in pain again!!! DANG IT.
Thanks for sharing that thought, it puts things in perspective! I think I seem to be the statue more than the bird, but such is life!

Maurine,
THANK YOU for posting that "burden" thought and all those laughables. They are great. I LOVE THEM. I need them today. I'm gonna post a copy on my PC so it will put a smile on my face everyday. You're SUPER!!!
Hope you're healing nicely and ready for Ogden!!!

Smooth - not really sure how I am feeling yet. I have been working all day and head to the chiropractor and then Leslie's for a massage. I think I will run around my condominium development for a little bit between them and see how the leg feels. I'm still on the line about whether to run on Saturday or not.
From Smooth on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 16:42:32 from 71.36.74.243
Chiropractor and massage sound like good plan. Be careful running between the appointments. Oh, I hope your legs co-operate. We still have 3 days for them to recover, right?

OKAY---waiting to discuss the BL finale. Did you watch it yet????????

Of course I did! Mike looked absolutely fantastic! He is a real stud now that he has lost the weight.
Tara didn't look as skinny as I thought she would - but looked good.
I wish Helen hadn't won. Too me - she actually looks older now (maybe because of the chicken wing arms) and almost too thin - 117! Way low!
I thought Kristin looked fabulous and wished she had won the at home competition - but I was very impressed with Jerry. Before the show I would have never imagined he had gotten so thin. And I also thought Dan made a good start at getting his life back after getting kicked off the show so early.
How about you?
From Kelli on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 17:41:14 from 71.219.89.83
I pretty much ditto all of that. Kristen looked amazing, I was so happy for her. And we did not get a chance to KNOW Jerry, but WOW!!! He did all of that on his own and he is older and....well, WOW!!!
Mike looked great, I hope he can help his little brother.
Tara looked great! I also thought she would come back a little thinner, but she looked healthy and awesome!
Helen threw her daughter under the bus, so I have never cared for her. She looked like crap! 117 is too thin. I hope she gains some of the weight back so she will look healthy. She did an amazing job, it was just a little scary looking. Sad that when you lose weight you look so old!!!!

Thanks for the uplifting post. My favorite was, If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague. I sure needed that one....I'm going to practice being more vague.
