Short-Term Running Goals:

It's been a challenging year so far since Boston 2011.  When I got home from Boston my world changed when I found out I had some pretty severe food allergies. Since being tested I have been focused on building my health back up which has been a long slow process. What a difference it's made and I feel extremely blessed. For years I knew something was wrong and it's amazing to finally know that food can actually be a persons medicine to live a healthy life. 

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'm hoping to start building more miles when I can and be injury free.  Maybe one of these days I'll be fast. Just for now I'm just very happy to be running.

Personal:

Happily married to Marlin Ordway. We've got 4 grown children between the two of us.  It's been fun watching them go through life - making mistakes and picking themselves back up.  I love seeming them happy and succeeding.

Tried to keep the run today right around Z1/Z2.   Was happy to get an extra mile in this morning. 

Went back to the gym after work for a few more miles.   Z2.

So happy to go to the gym this morning. I knew I had intervals in front of me so I was happy to see Marlin, Shan, Lynette and Debra  (saw Kami later on) already there.  Makes getting on the TM easier.  Did 800 x 400.  Felt pretty good overall.  Will think about going back after work to stretch.

Tempo run today 12 miles.  HR was really good today for most the run. Not sure why, but it's a good thing.  Had a hard time getting out of Z1.

Typical run at the gym this morning. Was alittle tired, but it's Friday.   Fun seeing alot of runners there.  Alot of stop and go during the first half of the run.  Lots of talking (w/Marlin).  Once my honey Marlin (love you honey) left to go to work the second half of the run went alot faster.   :-)

Slept in until 6:30 until Marlin came and woke me up. Made it to the gym just right after Marlin and he was wonderful enough to save me a TM by the window. I love running by the window on a longer run. It's always so much fun seeing the same people come and go and you're just still there running. I made myself hold it back alittle since this was suppost to be a long slow run. Now get to hang out at home, get a few things done and then relax.  Hope everyone has a good run this weekend!

On a side not still trying to get employee's at work interested in doing a Fun Run in May.  Next week Moses (Biggest Loser) and Apple Athletic are coming in.  Sure hoping this motivates people!  I think interest has picked up because management has put out a couple of prizes for people to participate.  I'm finding it very sad that people are not more intested in taking care of themselves.  But, if a prize is what it takes then I guess that's the way it is.  Maybe once they start to notice a difference they'll see the benefit.  Sure hoping they'll be able to relate to Moses and what he's overcome.  We'll see how it goes.
