Personal:

Married to Elizabeth (she got me running in 2003). We have three boys, Lucas (12) , Sam (8) and Ollie (5).

Many years ago, I read that the AVERAGE male is capable of a 2:40 marathon.  I decided to test that theory.  I began running in 2003 with Top of Utah as my first marathon (4:24).  I need 3 more minutes.

Wasatch 100 pacer-- Incredible experience!  5500 of climb and 8000 feet of drop.

I paced Andrea Martinez (6th overall female) from Brighton to Homestead.  She got to the lodge at 2:27 AM (while waiting I ran into several running friends...cool).  Andrea was around 15th female at that point with a predicated finish time around 30 hours...then, something happened--it’s like she transformed into the Incredible Hulk!  We finished at 9 AM.  She ran those 25 miles in 6 hours and 33 minutes for a total time of exactly 28 hours!  No other female ran this section faster (1st girl=7:13, 2nd girl=7:32, 3rd girl=7:27, 4th girl=8:03, 5th girl=8:10).  To find someone running faster than 6:33 you had to look at the top male runners.  She was the easy person in the world to pace.  Andrea was encouraging and friendly to all the runners she was passing. Super experience!  24-hours next year!
