Personal:

Married to Elizabeth (she got me running in 2003). We have three boys, Lucas (12) , Sam (8) and Ollie (5).

Many years ago, I read that the AVERAGE male is capable of a 2:40 marathon.  I decided to test that theory.  I began running in 2003 with Top of Utah as my first marathon (4:24).  I need 3 more minutes.

Fun race at Wheeler farm for the Humane Society.  Probably over 500 runners with some serious elite guys showing up (15:48 won it--Terrance Jamenson).

I started out on pace at 5:44/1 mile then began to drop to 6:03/2 mile then 6:10/3 mile.  I did not get passed and actually out kicked 2 runners the last 1/2 mile (back at 5:44 pace).  I was also able to stay several seconds ahead of the first female (Emily Jamenson).  Overall it was a good race and I PR'd by 25 seconds.  I would like to get down to sub 18:00 and run 5:50 pace the entire length.  I hope to get there before the Spring.

Good job, I think I was in your age group, but whereas you were 1st, I was 6th. Good go at sub 18, you can get there. The winner was an elite guy, Teren Jameson, and 2nd was Nate Hornok 20 seconds behind and none too happy that Teren showed up. The Jameson family gets $200 and Nate in 2nd gets nothing (no 2nd/3rd overall goodies like last year). We both got a swag bag though, imagine paying $50 for a flashlight and a Miller lite hat! Anyway, good race, that's a fun one, except for dodging dogs and waddlers.

;-0 Kudos, hope to see you around.

Thanks. The last lap was difficult with all the dogs and LONG leashes. I did way too much talking on the last lap.
