Long-Term Running Goals: Maintain my health and continuously seek to improve my fitness. Maybe someday get under 3:00 for marathon. More importantly, I'd like to figure out what my maximum ability is and reach that.
I'd also like to find the right balance in life and use running to enhance and improve myself.
Personal: Dad of three (welcome Charlotte Dani on 8/10/20) awesome kids and stepdad to three almost as awesome as my own kids.
I have a brown dog named Stella, and three cats - Catty, Tortie, and Esperanza.
(old lines that were a little out of date but couldn't quite bring myself to removing them completely:) Also, have one wonderful brown dog named Sammy and just added a grey tiger cat (Catty) whose life started out rough but now has a better home.
I've recently started another blog so I can easily add lots of pictures and so other non-FRB users can leave comments:
Forward Progress!
Also, for 2012 I started a blog to write down each day one thing that I am grateful for

Looping inside Westlake Village. This would be my last run for the year, flight later in the day to Cancun for a week with Jessica's extended family for her dad's big birthday year.
Stressful getting everyone out to airport and checked in (but for first time in a while arrived at airport extra early). Overall it ended up being mostly smooth with the help of Jacob knowing some Spanish to better explain to the driver exactly how to get to where we were going (staying at a VRBO without an easy to describe address but "close" to other hotels).

Was getting really worried I wouldn't get in any runs but it turned out the road in the community where the VRBO was pretty runnable and could make about a 2 mile circuit. Was able to leave water bottle at the start so didn't need to carry it. I think I'll be ok for running (maybe not great but at least ok).

Able to double yesterday's mileage. Day two of running in Mexico. Once I get to the main road I've noticed a tailgate taco stand, wish I had some pesos on me 30 for a taco. Also had a couple of other items, steady line of about 5 or 6 people lined up while it's open.

Day 3 of running in Mexico. Heart rate was really cooperating today, was in 110's and 120's for most of the run except until I started pushing it a little more at mile 8. I'd wanted 14 miles but didn't know how many more times I could run past the taco stand without buying anything. Weather was really nice again , with just under 70 degrees at the start.
