Long-Term Running Goals: Maintain my health and continuously seek to improve my fitness. Maybe someday get under 3:00 for marathon. More importantly, I'd like to figure out what my maximum ability is and reach that.
I'd also like to find the right balance in life and use running to enhance and improve myself.
Personal: Dad of three (welcome Charlotte Dani on 8/10/20) awesome kids and stepdad to three almost as awesome as my own kids.
I have a brown dog named Stella, and three cats - Catty, Tortie, and Esperanza.
(old lines that were a little out of date but couldn't quite bring myself to removing them completely:) Also, have one wonderful brown dog named Sammy and just added a grey tiger cat (Catty) whose life started out rough but now has a better home.
I've recently started another blog so I can easily add lots of pictures and so other non-FRB users can leave comments:
Forward Progress!
Also, for 2012 I started a blog to write down each day one thing that I am grateful for

First run after PTC and felt surprisingly OK. Ran from Foxwood and up and down Robert Trent Jones, aka the "T" shaped route.

Roof guy was coming so I did a slightly abbreviated run. Short out and back of a few miles, then up and down the street while getting a tarp put on my roof, then finished up with the 6x100m strides.
Plus, it's still kind of recovery from PTC but feeling a bit better and I think ready to train.

Back to some faster running, feeling pretty decent since PTC.
Scheduled run called for 5 miles easy followed by 5@7:45. Ran on Starky Blvd and a little into Starkey Ranch. Two out and backs. I felt kind of sluggish during the warmup but was able to switch gears and get into the faster paces. Warmup started at 11:16 for the first mile and went down to 9:19 for the 5th mile. Then, picked it up and ran 7:44, 7:30, 7:27, 7:28, and 7:17.
Ok, must not have been a completely straight out and back because somehow I had to run another 0.41 miles to get back to my car.
There were some clouds and a good breeze that helped.

Easy run which felt hot, ran from Westlake, then cut through Eniswood over to Alt 19 and then onto the Pinellas Trail for a bit with a stop at Conservation Park for some water, and then back the way I came.

Long run a day early so I won't have to worry about pushing it to Sunday. Thomas has a meet tomorrow in Brooksville.
Kind of hot this morning but wanted to push through and get it done. Ran from my house, starting with a loop around the neighborood, then over to Fox Hollow. I did three out and backs so I could drop off my bottle and not have to carry it. First one was to the end of RTJ Blvd to Trinity Blvd and back, and then down the new trail to Tarpon Ave, then back up and final leg over towards Heritage Springs. It felt pretty easy, kind of flowed but the higher temps were pushing up my heart rate a little.

1st part of the run was running around McKethan Lake before the meet started and a little bit after, then part two was a run back at my house with Stella.
Watched both Thomas and Jacob run for their schools in today's meet. Temperatures for the morning had finally dropped, so instead of over 80 degrees, it was right around 70 degrees.
Saw Thomas at the 1 mile point, coming through at about 5:08 and he was pretty far up near the front. Waited for Jacob and saw him come by about 6:35.
It's a two and a half loop course around the lake and there's a cut through over a bridge to get quickly to the two mile point. Thomas was still around his same place and had run about 5:25 for the second mile.
Rushed over to the finish chute and saw the leader come in a little under 16:00 (about 15:54 I think). Then number two, three, and I could see Tom's orange shoes first then he came by and crossed in 16:30.
Jacob also PR'd with 20:50.
It was great to see all the hardwork pay off.
Stuck around for awards then I went with Jenny and the boys to breakfast at the Florida Cracker restaurant in Brooksville. We were trying to meet up with Jacob, Aubrey, and his dad but they had to get Aubrey to her game althugh we caught them just as they were leaving and was able to get a picture of Andy, Tom, and Jacob.
Got back home and took Stella for a little over a mile run, to just past the gate and then back.
