58:36/11:43, best-7:51, Splits-15:01, 11:26, 10:36, 10:02, 11:27 How you like them apples? goal- 5 mile run with a 3 mile tempo run in the middle ;)
I woke up at 5:30 and slipped in and out of awake for an hour. I kept dreaming that I went running and missed work, couldn't find my running clothes, etc. Finally I got up at 6:30 and nearly went back to bed because I was SO tired and did not want to run. I am not sure how I got myself out the door. Another Festivus Miracle ;) I did not want to go :( So, I headed up the canyon road, sure that there was NO way a tempo run was in the cards. Well, I finally convinced myself that a 3 mile, 12 minute mile tempo would be doable and liveable. After a 1 mile warm up, I couldn't get my legs to move, so I went back to what Michelle said on one of our runs, "ta, ta, ta, ta," concentrate on your feet turning over more quickly, "ta, ta ,ta, ta." I sang "Love is Spoke Here," sped up, to match my foot falls. As you can see by my splits, I really don't tempo well. I just get faster and faster ;D I guess I am more of a progressive split runner. I was really happy to know that my legs still work. I was beginning to wonder. My goal is to do speed work every monday. I want to PR at Onion Days this year in the 5k. Happy Monday :)

Goal- 20 minute swim, 3.5 mile recovery run Swam 1000 meters in about 25 minutes. I had a ~3 minute blab with a friend in there, so the time is a bit off.
Ran 3.5 miles 43:49, ave 12:31, splits- 12:59, 12:58, 11:59, 11:42 It was really hard to run after swimming. I need to remember to drink, eat AND go potty before running. I ate and drank, but skipped to potty break :( The run felt very awkward and sort of like I was running on stilts. I need some new goggles. My eyes are crossed for about 5 minutes after I take them off. I will crash on my bike in the tri. I am also going to have to figure out clothing. Do I just wear my sports bra under my suit and then just slap on shorts for the biking and running??? I need to register for the tri today :)

Goal- six mile run down the canyon....
Dreamed I got run over running down the canyon so I scrapped that first off. Headed up the canyon and... HEAD WIND!!!! Stiff and annoying. No zip in the legs. Canned the 6 miler and came home. I have hair appointment in 10 minutes :) I was SO thirsty that I had to find water. OH and I saw a HUGE snake! It was at least 4 feet long. I did the snake song and dance. It's pretty loud and obnoxious at 6 am in a residential neighborhood ;D
40 minute bike ride with David. It was SO beautiful!!!!

20 minute swim with David. I ditched him at 20 and went for my run. I wore my sports bra under my swimming suit and just toweled off and pulled on shorts, t-shirt, shoes and garmin. It worked great except my shorts kept sliding down. No cosmic wedgie with my new swim suit. We saw Mackenzie at the pool. She was making a serious wake with her pool running. :) The swimming is getting easier all of the time :) Running after swimming is REALLY HARD! It felt nice to be so cool, though. I was trying to come up with another speed work out and I came up with it today. On my thursday run, after swimming, I am going to run the 3.5 at my 1/2 marathon pace. It will be REALLY hard, but this way I can hopefully be able to do that pace on race day :) There is no way I would be able to do my 5 or 10 k pace. We'll see how it goes! I know that Mac has bought some cool red and pink stuff to wear for the marathon :) Michelle has been to Dirty Joe Punsters for her prize. This is gonna be SUPER FUN!!! |

| | Nothing today. My hip was really bugging me last night :( It has been great for a while now and was quite surprised that it was hurting again :( I got up and iced it. It feels ok this morning :) I have a migraine today too. Probably from the glare of the rooster! ;D See y'all in the morning :) Drive safe and call me if you have any questions :)
Oh my GOSH!!! I just got an email from a woman who's 3rd great
grandfather was owned by my 4th great grandfather. Her email was VERY
nice, but my heart just broke and I FEEL horrible. I cried for days
when I found out that my family had slaves, but to actually receive an
email from one of their descendants was very strange and and made my
heart hurt. What do I say to her????

I have SO much to say, but have to head off to the Scottish Festival right now. We just got home from the ER. :( I got a call just as I was finishing picking up the race signs telling me that an ambulance was taking Will, my baby, to the ER with a head wound. PANIC!!! He is alright, and I will share more info when I get back tonight :) THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!! xoxoxoxoxo We are doing this race again FOR SURE!!! ****Holy cow! What a crazy Saturday :) You can read my novel down in the comments about Will's adventures yesterday :) We are so blessed that he was okee dokee :) So on to the race... After a night of fitfull sleep... the tires blew on my car and Josse and I missed to start :( ...there was a ghost haunting my home...etc. I finally got up about 3:50 and took a shower, weird, I know, and headed out to meet Josse at the park at 5:15. We zoomed around the canyon and route to put up the red glittered RHPC signs and pink cones to mark the course. We had to adjust things a bit, as Provo was doing some construction here and there. It turns out that TylerS's company was responsible for all of the mayhem ;) When we got back, Michelle was there all decked out in red and pink :) The runners were arriving and things were looking GREAT! We shuttled off to the start at the mouth of the canyon and we were off :) I was back talking to Harold (Les's honey and the official photographer) and forgot to start running. I hurried off to catch Leslie. Now way back at 0'dark hundred, when I woke up, my tummy was not happy, but I just ignored it. By about a mile into the run, I was trying really hard to not throw up :p That has never happened to me before. Les and I just walked a bit and it went away. We started to run, and what do you know, nucky tum tum :( Well, after a bit, I realized that this was a trend that was not going to let up so we turned around and went back to the finish :) I am SO glad we did. It was SO AWESOME to see all of the runners come in! Especially MACK!!!! She pulled it out and won the beloved VERY EXPENSIVE SUPER TACKY- (ugly really) RHPC Rooster! This was such a fun race! Everyone brought the COOLEST prizes to exchange. The food was the BEST ever at the end of a race. The runners were the most BEAUTIFUL women and handsome men in the UNIVERSE!!! We are SO doing this again! THANK YOU ALL!!!! Be sure to sign up for the 5k in Spanish Fork the first Saturday in August. Seesuerun's brother died a few weeks ago and left a large family. This 5k is to benifit him. I think Kelli has info posted on her blog :) Let's make sure the RHPC (and dude's) are there to support her and her family :) XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO This picture just cracked me up! Here is Luz, LONGING for the coveted RHPC rooster ;) You can just hear her thoughts, "Mac, you are going DOWN next year!" "THE ROOSTER IS MINE!!!!" Congratulations McKenzie :D You are the Queen of the RHPC!!! ...or is it Tyler???? Will's wound :( Gross, hugh??? Sorry if you are queezy :(
