You love snow??? You are crazy... I don't know what's up with my this year... I usually don't hate winter, but I'm in more of a funk about it this year.

From LuzyLew on Tue, Dec 08, 2009 at 12:28:33 from 208.187.197.42

We should have a stretching/ rolling party so you can show me what you are doing. Since I started on the treadmill and more of the bike I am so sore. And I'm with you. I love the snow-- particularly the first month of it. I don't think there is anything better than the first fresh pristine blanket of snow. Sure beats that bitter cold we were having last week. P.S. Sharon told me it takes six weeks to get back your KEEP results--but there were tons of screenings in October and so they are even further behind. I had no idea it took that long!! I mean, MAN, you could have died already of kidney failure just around the time you're getting the test results in the mail. I guess it's a long-term tracking process for those at risk generally.

Pain free AWESOME! I love the snow too. I love winter running, for some reason it's just relaxing and inspiring--maybe it's because of the cuddling under a blanket with a hot drink afterward is just so cozy!

From RAD on Tue, Dec 08, 2009 at 13:41:49 from 76.27.12.70

I'm loving the snow (right now) too! Not to mention the extra calories I burn while I'm shoveling it :)

SO glad you've been pain free for a good few days now! When do you get to up your miles again?

From Carolyn in Colorado on Tue, Dec 08, 2009 at 14:21:17 from 198.241.174.15

Great work, Marion.

I think I could take the snow if it weren't so freakin' cold!

From marion on Tue, Dec 08, 2009 at 15:31:20 from 71.213.112.70

NOw plwase don't get me wrong, I HATE winter :) ...BUT, this morning, as I was looking out the window, the snow was drifting down, sparkling like glitter onto blankets of prestine snow laced with diamonds. It was BREATH TAKING!! and I really do love to shovel snow. I am nuts! But I think it is the California girl in me who still thinks of snow like a child. I think I will go have some cocoa :)

Luz- I got the results :) I am fine, but FAT! the test said I am FAT!!!! ..and not the kind with the PH in the front! FAT!!!!!!!!!! (I only have to lose 3 pounds to not be FAT ;)

From Smooth on Tue, Dec 08, 2009 at 15:52:55 from 174.23.201.210

Hey Marion cute girl! SO HAPPY to hear you're pain FREE!!!! YAY!

YOU ARE NOT FAT!!! Don't believe those tests, they are lies! :) I LOVE clean snow and skiing!

From Kelli on Tue, Dec 08, 2009 at 16:03:56 from 71.219.71.229

Yeah for the soreness going away, it is about time!

Bonus points for shoveling twice, after the first time, I save the rest for my husband or kids.

From marion on Tue, Dec 08, 2009 at 17:48:34 from 71.213.112.70

Hey guys- the TM and all the shoveling are irritating my hammies. Any ideas? Stretching? Buy a snow blower? ;D

From LuzyLew on Tue, Dec 08, 2009 at 18:21:08 from 208.187.197.42

What you do you mean you are not Phat? You are totally phat!!! That reminds me of when I took fitness for life at BYU. I'd just lost 10 lbs before I had to take the caliburation test (or whatever it's called where they pinch your fat). So I wasn't worried, but then in front of the whole class they told me I measured 36% body fat--which would have put my weight somewhere around 78 pounds.

From LuzyLew on Tue, Dec 08, 2009 at 18:23:34 from 208.187.197.42

That it is to say 78 would have been my ideal weight. But no matter how hard I try, short of the amputation diet, there is no freakin way.

From marion on Wed, Dec 09, 2009 at 09:11:59 from 71.219.50.174

I was like 16% back then ;) Those tests are bunk ;) Alright, I will concede to being phat ;D (some days more than others) David's feathers got all ruffled at the "fat" thing from the test. My hero :)

Oh, the temp is on the rise. It was 0.0 a few minutes ago and now it is 0.3 :) It's a warming trend!

From LuzyLew on Wed, Dec 09, 2009 at 11:42:11 from 208.187.197.42

For the record, I'm with David. Even after having lost 30-35 pounds myself, I'm still on the borderline of acceptable BMI. But I could easily be 350 pounds, I mean EASILY. I know it would be easy for you too (37 point cake girl). So I think we get should get a bonus for every pound we ARE NOT. You look great, you've got great "balance", and dog-gone-it, people like you (heck, you change people's lives!). I hate those tests too. The good news is, you're not in end stage renal failure! That's always good to know.

From marion on Wed, Dec 09, 2009 at 12:07:27 from 71.219.50.174

You are EXACTLY right. I do have to be SO grateful and PROUD of every pound that I am not :)

YES! i am very glad and relieved that I am not in any stage of renal failure. Yippee!

Oh- the two major hip stretches that I do are pigeon and 1/2 lord of the fishes. I bought a foam roller from Dr Brady and I try to use it every day :) I really do love the scrapers that Josse recommended.

From Kelli on Wed, Dec 09, 2009 at 13:07:02 from 71.219.71.229

I am chiming in late as usual, Marion. But here is some food for thought: My husband is considered obese when it comes to BMI, not just overweight, but OBESE. You have seen the guy!!! He has like 10% body fat, but for his height his weight is considered obese. The BMI thing is stupid!

You are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

Did you see the Biggest Loser finale last night?? Someone gets $1,000 for every pound they lose from now until next season's finale. How would that be??? That would motivate me big time!!!!

From marion on Wed, Dec 09, 2009 at 14:30:44 from 71.219.50.174

Kelli- you are so sweet. You are right, if Scott is obese, we are all in trouble!!

Yes, I did watch the biggest loser last night. Rebecca looks WAY better as a brunette. She looked a ton older as a blond.

From Kelli on Wed, Dec 09, 2009 at 17:55:05 from 71.219.71.229

That is the sad thing about losing weight when you are a female----you look older!! Some of the men looked older, but most looked younger! The winner looked way young (like his own age), but that could be because he got rid of the grey!!!
