biked 5

Michelle came by at 7am.  She walked FAST while I jogged along, totally flat route.  My knee was fine until in mile 4.  It did not go full blown ticked at me, but just right before it does the scream thing and "give out/weak" thing.  I have an appointment to see Dr Brady next Friday.

For the riding, I just followed Michelle while she ran and walked.  She did great.  I am SO glad that she is running again and feeling good :)

I bailed on the tri this morning.  I spoke with the race director yesterday, and the 5k route had a steep up hill and a corresponding down hill, done in a loop, twice.  I knew the hills would KILL my knee, and delay recovery.

I'm sorry to hear you had to bail on the tri, but maybe it's for the best.

I'm really interested in this yoga that you're doing. I might give it a try this afternoon since my needy husband and oldest son are both out of town.

I'm with Carolyn, I'm GENUINELY interested in this yoga thing. Do you do it in front of your computer, or download it and do it on TV?

I'm SO SO SO sorry you had to bail on the tri, but like you said, it may be the best for recovery. The daybreak tri is next weekend and it has flat, flat and more flat. Option?

Yes, I do it in front of my computer :) You just select the class you want and. voila, there it is :) Just don't forget to change your screen saver to about 75 minutes :) It's a bummer when you look up to see what in the crap she meant and you are looking at bubbles :) Seriously, I have learned a ton about better yoga form since I have been practicing with them. Oh, and saving myself $40 a month.

Marion, sorry you didn't get to do the tri, and I am so sorry that our Cheesecake Factory date died to, right now I would KILL for Cheesecake!!!!!

From Smooth on Sat, Sep 12, 2009 at 19:17:25 from 71.32.238.75

Sorry the TRI didn't fan out. There are always races and TRI to do when your knee is happier with you. Keep on doing those things that you love to stay healthy and active. GOOD RUN/Walk/bike with Michelle along!

WHAT?! Cheesecake Factory got postponed too? Hey, may be we can all make it the next time! Hope you're having a GOOD day. BYU killed Tulane, HAPPY DAY!

Wow awesome workout. Sounds like something I need to do. I have this weird tightness deep in my upper buttock, I think this is the piriformis area, that bothers me only when I am sitting. Maybe some serious yoga will help me out. Anyways, you are smart to bail on the tri and not get seriously injured. Sooo, when is your next marathon planned?

From marion on Sat, Sep 12, 2009 at 22:25:22 from 71.213.124.121

April- The piriformis is a BEAST! Mine is such a BABY! When it's really bad I have my hubby dig into it with his elbow. I pretty much scream and yell at him, but it helps. Mine got so charlied once that I couldn't even get off the toilet anymore :( The yoga pose 1/2 lord of the fishes is my favorite piriformis stretch. IF you google piriformis stretches you will see it. It is the littlest deepest muscle in our bums and boy can it cause a stink! ;)

Smooth- Wed it is :)
