Holy Crud!  What a gorgeous day!  I am so in love with this weather.  I know it is going to be gone soon :(  It is just so STINKIN' perfect!!!

I literally could not wake up this morning.  At 7 I finally dragged myself out of bed only to return moments later.  I fought the magnetism of my bed for the better part of an hour.  I finally ate a piece of wonder bread and got out of the house.  Once the sun hit me, I was sold on the run.  It felt great.  I am having a REALLY hard time not running faster.  I want to push myself.  Now don't get me wrong, I am a VERY lazy person.  I love to sit on the couch and watch movies ALL DAY (or scour the internet for cemetery records ;), but when it comes to running, I want to burn myself out.  I think I need a doctor of the psychiatric persuasion.

Oh, I feel so bad!  I got into bed last night fully intending on staying up ALL night watching the Olympics, but... I snuggled into my hubby and didn't last more than one vault ... or whatever they were doing.  I was out like a light.  Apparently, my body was a bit tired and didn't care how the US women's gymnasts did.

I hope you all are having a great day!  I am getting really excited about cheering you all on at Hobble Creek next week!  Woo Hoo GO FRB!!!!

Time- 28:53, ave pace 11:28, best pace 8:08, Laps- 11:41, 10:30, 9:31 (.24)  Walk and stretch at the beginning.

*** 20 min ice bath. Thanks Maurine for the tip.. I sat in the tub, filled with cold water, THEN added the ice. Very nice!!!

From leslie on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 13:31:32

Great run, I think your pace is looking pretty dang good!! I think you are back in the groove once again!! You will be a great cheerleader Sat!!!!

The ice bath sounds dreadful! You are dedicated that's for sure!

Hey Les- I hope you don't mind :)... I was reading a post of Bonnies about PF and asked her to pop over to your blog. For me, all the info I can get really helps.

Subliminal message coming you way... *** come down to Hobble creek...come down to Hobble creek***

Don't you just love this blog!!! I agree, the more info the better, I was happy to hear that the PF didn't stop her from running, I will definately follow her advice and that of the website and your sister-in-law, it is all so helpful.

I wish I could come down and cheer with you, it sounds like so much fun! I am doing a practice swim up at Jordanelle and see if I can actually do the whole swim. It will be be torture.

Thanks for asking, we need to get a bunch of us together soon! I am still thinking a fake 5K for Paul would be fun, we are working on the tee shirt design now! They will be pretty darn snazzy!!!

From marion on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 14:07:23

Good luck at Jordanelle! WOW that is gonna be intense! I am asuming that you have some good spotters going with you?

Yeah! 5k for Paul!!!

I am so happy that I am not the only one who has a hard time getting up some days (okay, most days)! I hate that I have to run at night now---I can not wait for cooler weather so I can sleep in until 7, get the kids off to school, and then just go pushing the "baby" in the stroller on my own.

How many ice baths are you gonna endure?? WOW, you are crazy (or really smart!)

From tarzan on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 20:24:46

Glad you like my 'recipe' for an ice bath. The first time I tried climbing into a tub of cold water was also my last time. I think I lasted 30 seconds tops!

From marion on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 21:47:00

I may ice bath forever ;D I am planning on ice bathing for long runs and races FOREVER! But in the short term, I am icing for the next three weeks every day while I am still in the rebuilding after my injury. :)

I am going to be running while the boys are in pre school at 11 am this winter :) I HATE waking up! ALWAYS and forever ;D
