I could not sleep this morning. I was too excited, so I got up and ran. Can you believe I said that? "I got up and ran this morning!" How cool is that? My calf was 100%, not a twinge, nothing. My hamstrings were a little irritated with me and my heart was not really happy to be beating again. Oh and the lungs were a little in shock, but the calves were thrilled to be there and so was I :D  I saw a really ugly dog and a dead bat. I took my phone so I wouldn't need one, for luck you know. You never need one when you have one ;D Yoga tomorrow and then 3 miles on Saturday. Dr said 10 -15 miles for the first week, so 10 running miles, 15 including the walking. I figure that will work.

Ok- I jumped on the tramp with my kids last night. I am pretty lame. Once that was obvious, I did a head stand on the tramp and impressed everyone! Some of the other tricks I tried were none to successful. I thought I had broken my neck with a few of them, but everything is OK this morning.

Have a great day!!!! "It's a beautiful day in then neighborhood...."

Congrats on your first post-injury pain-free run! Great to hear your calf gave you no trouble at all. Looks like you're doing all the right things so I would expect you'll be right back where you left off (running-wise, not injury-wise!) in no time at all.

Sounds like you had a good run. I'm glad you are enjoying yourself.

YEAH!!! I am glad it was a successful, pain-free run.

Those tramps are dangerous---you be careful!

I do have to day i have never seen a dead bat before. Good job on the running...

From marion on Thu, Aug 07, 2008 at 20:14:27

REally BArry- I hear seeing the dead bat is a good omen for FBR's. It brings you 20 years injury free running.

From Metcalf Running on Fri, Aug 08, 2008 at 10:05:40

Now we will all be looking for dead bats as we are running in the morning LOL I know I will, I can use all the help I can get. Congrats on the great run, I'm so happy to that you are back in the running zone.
