Dr Appt today at 2:15 with Dr Brady.  I sure hope it goes well.  My sister-in-law from CA is here and I REALLY wish I could run with her.  Oh well... next year :)

Have a great day!

Dr Report-  My leg has healed very well.  Better than he had expected :D  ANyway- he has cleared me for 10-15 miles in the next 7 days.  No running 2 days in a row.  15-20 next week.  I am going to be a bit more conservative,  10 this week (wed- wed).  Anyway- tomorrow morning I am going to try one mile.  I am SO excited!!!!  He said I should be back up to 28-30 within 3 weeks.  I am way less optimistic than he is.  I am SO AFRAID to get hurt again!!!

ACTUAL RUNNING :D--   ONE mile 12:19 pace.  I walked a half mile, ran a mile and walked a half mile.  I'm off to scrape, massage, stretch and ice.  It felt fine.  I was majorly paranoid.  I suppose I will be less stressed ifter a while.  It was funny to listen to various muscles saying "hey, what are you doing?"

I am crossing my fingers for you- I hope the doc gives you the go ahead for a run tomorrow!!! Have fun with your sister in law!!!

From Kim on Tue, Aug 05, 2008 at 18:18:02

Great news from the Doc! We'll be in your parts tomorrow for a downhill Payson Canyon. (Is it open?) Maybe we'll see you. (although I know you WON'T be going down the canyon!) Take it easy girl! I know you are a bit excitable and I don't want you to over do it! :D (that "excitable" comment was made out of love!)

From Kelli on Tue, Aug 05, 2008 at 18:18:12

Good luck, and take it slow!

From maurine on Tue, Aug 05, 2008 at 20:02:52

Glad to hear the good news. I would try icing before and after the run and do a good warmup and cooldown. Let us know how it goes (like you already don't)

From marion on Tue, Aug 05, 2008 at 20:20:59

Hey Maurine- are you saying I talk too much? :) I am going to go for a jog tonight. I just can't help it. I will ice afterwards. He gave me some stretches to do too. Sort of a one legged down dog-ish. He has ordered me shoe inserts too. My right arch has fallen. My right foot is more than a 1/2 inch longer than my left. As if my feet weren't already ugly enough!

From marion on Tue, Aug 05, 2008 at 20:24:00

Oh- I am going to stretch, then walk a 1/2 mile then jog SLOWLY for a mile then walk a 1/2 mile home, stretch and Ice :D And sleep like a baby! with a grin a million miles wide! (no nay sayers- everyone say " that sounds great Marion- have fun! Wow!!"

From Kim on Tue, Aug 05, 2008 at 20:43:17

That sounds great Marion-have fun! Wow!

Hey Kim- THE CANYON IS OPEN!!! Yeah!! What time are you going. My sis in law is in town from CA (she's a 8 to 8:20 mm girl) It will probably be too early, she's still on CA time, but I said I'd check.

Me excitable?

From Kim on Tue, Aug 05, 2008 at 20:50:02

Yeah for the open canyon! We meet at Pateetneet and leave promptly at 5:00 a.m. We aren't sure how many people will show up. We are hoping there will be 2 vehicles to get people to the top but we aren't sure at the moment. We run down 11 miles. Let me know if we should watch for her. We all pitch in a buck or two to the driver for gas.

And you excitable...what was I thinking? :)

From marion on Tue, Aug 05, 2008 at 21:35:54

Thanks for the info Kim. She's not going to come, although if it was later she'd come. We are partying a bit too late to get up that early! Have fun and i want to hear about the wild life!!
