I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

Ouch, ouch, ouch...

"Every step you take, every move you make..."

I told myself this morning than I only have 2 more super sore days in the near future, the 20 miler on the 23rd and the Marthon on the 13th of June.  I can handle it.  17 miles did not do this to me, but apparently ONE more lousy mile puts me over my magic "pain" threshold.  Every one who reads this and comments, must start their comment with "WIMP!!!!"

My sweet parents threw a surprise party for me last night at their home.  Dinner was of course amazing and it was so fun to see my friends and family.  Needless to say, I am SO tired from staying up WAY too late.  It is going to be major nap time after Stake Conference today.  I'd better go get some grub.  I was up 6.4 lbs this morning.  YIKES!!  Sore legs sure weigh a TON!!! ;)

Have a BEAUTIFUL Sunday.  I am going to really soak it in :D

Went on a nice walk with the kids while David napped.  Then I napped while they all ran around screaming and having tickle wars ;)

Wimp!!!!

It could be a whole bunch of things causing the soreness including more downhill time, cold, pushing the pace, picking up race markers, or entertaining me.

Or - it could be old age. You weren't 40 when you did the 17 miler. :)

Off to walk my woofy. Have a nice ice bath!

I ditto Maurine. I know this might sound counter-productive to you. But after a nice nap, you should go for a walk. It's beautiful outside. Walking, lots of diligent stretching and hydrating are so important to speed up recovery.

We had a great Stake Conference. Just said goodbyes to the visiting authorities. I just love their kindness and the great spirit they bring. I'm gonna have lunch; then go for a little walk all by my lonesome self 'cause hubby is still at church.

Thanks girls :) I did not hydrate very well yesterday at all. I did not realize it until the evening. I will go on a walk in a bit, or maybe I'll go alone while the kids play and the girls are practicing the bag pipes :) It is SO pretty outside. Our Stake Conference was very nice. David didn't have so much fun. I let him take care of the boys while I listened, a flip from the usual. He's usually all cozy on the stand ;)

WHIMP - NOT!!! Okay, I ditto Tarzan and Smooth, downhill can be a bugger on those legs!! Plus, the age will do a lot :)

Glad you had a nice Sunday...it is fast Sunday for us, so I'm trying to do anything that will help me NOT think of food...

Don't worry about the weight, I did the same on my 22 last week, but it all fell off by Tuesday/Wednesday. How is the diet going? Should I try it yet? :)

Rachel- fast sundays are anything but...fast ;) Hang tough sister :D

I Have been HORRIBLE since my birthday. I am going to repent right now, I mean now, oops wait, NOW ;) I think all of the birthday crap is gone, so I can start fresh after the cake Ashley just made ;)

NO rachel- you should not try it until I catch up to you. I am going to work on getting a bit taller and a TON smaller, and then you can lose 3/4 of a pound.. SKINNY!!! ;P

Lots-a love, Twiggie :) xoxoxoxoxo

hey girls- my 17 miler was up and down that very same canyon at a faster pace. Maybe going up first got me warmed up enough to keep the quads in check ???

From RAD on Sun, May 03, 2009 at 21:07:44 from 67.166.99.8

hmmmm...I think I've now gained 10 pounds since I stopped fasting! We had breakfast for dinner since it was quick and easy, then I broke into the candy...I think I need to go on a run :)

Sorry you are in pain. It's going to make a marathon tough. You sure you don't want to wait? Perhaps this should be year of halves for you and start the marathoning next summer? I just want it to be a good experience, not a crippling one. I know about being crippled.

I'm a little sore too. I should have taken a walk today. But I was tired and took a nap instead. I'm not looking forward to Monday morning. Mondays are terrible for me. But I'll be remembering Saturday....running together does make it easier! Have a great week!

Wimp. I just do what I'm told. Nice work by the way.
