I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

Still not sure what to do.  I am feeling pretty bad.  I am finally healed from the accident then this stupid ITBS shows up all uninvited.  I have two consults this week with different doc's/PT's.  I may cancel them and just rest for a few weeks.  I have been in physical therapy for more than 6 months and I just don't think I can bare any more right now.  I've thought about all of the reasons to do the therapy and not to do it.  The list of pro's and con's is LONG and pretty evenly matched.  I've been chatting with many of my good friends and  they have given me lots of great advice.  I'm going to sleep on it for a few more days.

Quick question... Why do injuries always occur within 24 hours of buying new running shoes???

PS- Have I told you lately that I love you :)  Thanks for reading all of my whine over the last 7 months! xoxoxoxo

Oh, Marion. I'm so sorry that you are struggling with aches and pains. Are the new shoes significantly different than the ones you've used before? Or maybe it's just coincidence that the pain arrived shortly after the new shoes. I'm not much help.

I think sleeping on it for a few days is a good idea. I hope you get lots of good sleep.

No, it's not the shoes. The issue started the week before I bought them :( I bought new shoes the week before I was hit by the car :p I have decided that I may hope for a miracle :)

Keep the chin up. Injuries are tough things. Do what you feel you need to. Listen to your body. I have taken the past two weeks off and it has been torture, but I really feel like I have needed to give it a break! You will get there!

I'd say see what Orrock has to say, and give him your philosophy about it, like we discussed at the museum.

Honestly this just stinks! I'm sorry you've been just beat down with all this crap lately. yup, I said it - CRAP!

Michelle is a pretty smart girl, I'd take her advice! :)

That sucks I am SO sorry. I'm also struggling with basically never getting rid of these left-leg problems. With my bad-ITB I took 2 weeks off, stretched & foam-rolled, 3 advil 3 times a day, and did side leg lifts like crazy. Then it was better. Injuries are the worst, why can't we do whatever we want to do?
