Not feeling the love today. I HATE my flat route.  It is out in the fields and the Onion Day's 5k is in the midst of it.  I think the distain is psychological, but there non the less.  Because of my dislike for it, and the fact that they are doing road construction on it, I went for my old up and down hill route.  It did not work :(  I am going to have to find a flat route that does not go to the other side of the freeway or drive to the canal trail and run on that.  This is going to be tricky as there a hills all over the place around here :(

understand the hill hate, try living in Herriman :) I actually like the onion days 10K route, flat as flat can almost be! However, I can see how it could get very boring very fast. Sorry. I think we all get sick of the same ol' routes all the time!

I actually LOVE the hills, but my ITB does not at the moment :( Yes, I do run over that 10K route, but the stinking road dudes are closing down all of the underpasses to that side of the freeway :( Every time I run over there, I am afraid that they will have closed the other way back and I'll have to back track for 5 miles ;) I am just being a whiny sissy girl ;)

You need to baby that ITB so it will heal and allow you to be your usual awesome self. FLAT IS WHERE IT IS AT.

Road construction has broken down my 10, 12 AND 16 mile route so I understand! It stinks, spring finally comes and we still can't run on the roads 'cuz they're all torn up and closed.

From Smooth on Wed, Aug 05, 2009 at 15:21:31 from 71.36.75.185

Sorry about the stinkin' road construction. Seriously, you can't find any pancake flat route? How about a high school track? If you run on the track, be sure to reverse the direction every so often. Also if you're running on the road, try both sides, the crown of the road will aggravate the ITB.

Yes, there is a track :) No shade :( but at 5:30 am, who cares :) I have noticed that the camber of the road does make a HUGE difference for my ITB.

Hey, at least you can find a flat route! My only option for flat is the track.

Hey You! I'm back. I think it's so weird you know Ginny. I've known her husband for years and years-- this was the first I've met her. We had a great time together! Sorry your run today was un-asthetically pleasing. Will you be running anything around 15 in the weeks to come?

From Kelli on Wed, Aug 05, 2009 at 18:02:33 from 71.219.100.174

I hear ya---I need FLAT!!! Good luck hunting down a new route!

From marion on Wed, Aug 05, 2009 at 18:22:28 from 71.213.115.102

Luz- is the 29th too far away for you?? I am healing my ITB and if I can do 10 next sat and then 13 the next, i can squeak out a 15 :)

Kelli- WHAT'S UP SISTA????

Carolyn- According the the course tool, about a 200 ft change in elevations is as flat as I can find. IS that flat enough?

Miles- how can you tell it is healed???

From Maurine/Tarzan on Wed, Aug 05, 2009 at 18:26:51 from 97.117.60.39

It is healed when it quits hurting. Everyone is a bit different. I used IT Band straps and stretching and rolling and flat territory to get mine to heal.

Oh yeah - and a four letter word.

REST
