A windy day of rest :)  I stayed home from church :(  My allergies are trying to turn into a sinus infection, so I got myself some Sudafed, a big glass of water(44oz) and am going to rest today.  I usually end up on a nasal steroid, but I am hoping to avoid it by resting today and getting rid of the congestion.  Here's hoping. Are there any no calorie/low calorie orange juices?  I want some V-C without all the calories.  Tea sounds good.  I wonder if I have any?  I'll have to go on a hunt.  I wish hot chocolate had the same healing properties as hot tea ;))  ...Oh and the same # of calories ;D

Oh- since this month is Yoga Month ;)  yogatoday has a 24 minute newbie sequence streaming.  Here is the link  http://blog.yogatoday.com/2009/09/09/a-sequence-for-the-novice/   I started to watch it but decided I'd rather take a nap.

My plans for the week are to #1- NOT GET A full blown SINUS INFECTION.  #1.2- See Dr Brady this week  #2- run 3 miles every day, 4 saturday if all goes well.  #3- get at least 3-4 yoga classes in, maybe daily.  #4- 3 bike rides in.  #5- NOT GET A full blown SINUS INFECTION.  #6-10 are the same as #1 and #5.

PS- I think the yoga is helping my ITBS and my hip problems.  I didn't have very much pain last night while I slept.

PPS- If I am feeling well, I want to try the biking before I run to see if it really helps with a more rapid leg turnover.  I may have to wait a bit for this experiment.  Michelle mentioned that it also might be helping me as it warms up the legs so I can get right into a better pace.  Hmmmm, a lot to think about as I relax while the troops are are church :)  Oh crud, only one more hour until the invasion occurs ;)

PPPS- I found a new stretch for ITBS.  IT'a a long article, but the description of the stretchis good, if you can follow it along ;) It's called Walt Reynolds's ITB Special

V-C without all the calories...EmergenC. I drink one every morning. I like the Joint Health ones, lotsa Vit. C and good stuff for the joints. I'm gonna check out the ITB article. Hope you're resting well and keep the sinus infection at bay. Happy Sabbath day!

What a GREAT article! Seriously enjoyed it, thank you SO much for sharing - Knowledge is power! Keep up your good work and good luck with those goals - go for the emergen-C, I also think it's the best with no/little calories.

I'm with Smooth. Love the Emergen-C packets. I especially like to warm up the raspberry ones like you would an herbal tea. Very soothing and lots of vitamin C and not many calories.

Take care of yourself Marion! :)

Where do you find Emergen-C? At Good Earth? I tried finding some last year with no luck.

Marion, how about eating some oranges, the fiber partially offsets the cals? I just bought a bunch of oranges because I feel like I am fighting a cold, so I have some if you need 'em today and don't have any.

I love your goals, Marion. Your post is kind of stream-of-consciousness today. It cracked me up for some reason.

Michelle, I just buy Emergen-C in the pharmacy section of my grocery store (it's a Kroger store, like Smiths) or at Walgreens.

From marion on Sun, Sep 13, 2009 at 19:56:12 from 71.213.124.121

Michelle- I wanted regular oranges but I only have peaches :( Oranges are the BEST choice. Walmart has emergen-C. I use the Joint health one like Smooth for the glucosamine & chondroitin. I have just been out for a while and forgot about it. It's winter time, so time to start taking it again :) YES- I'd love two oranges :) I'll trade you for some BEAUTIFUL peaches later this week. David'd miracle tree is done, I ate the last one today. My tree will be ready in a few days :) I am SO excited!!!!

CArolyn- I am glad I provided a smile today :) My brain was in a fog when I was typing. I actually think that I have oatmeal for brains these days ;D

Marion, I hope you can get that ITB to settle down.

I am going to have to try the Emergen C too!
