Personal:

I have been married for almost 20 years.... Dave is the only man that I think that was placed specifically on this earth to tolerate my crazy ways.

I have 2 boys - ages 9 yrs. and 18 yrs. old (senior in high schoold and known on this blog as "Ironman"- they are fabulous kids - I am very blessed!!!

I am an RN and have been for around 12 years.

I lift weights regularly and work abs 2-3 days a week.  I enjoy the beach, like to sing, and love to run!!!

Quit smoking about 4 years ago and couldn't run 1/4 way around a track when I began... started with elliptical and then got into running more seriously.  Cranked up the mileage and intensity when I began training for my first 1/2 marathon.  The rest is history.... or history in the making!?

Right about now I am wondering how in the world I ran over 50 miles last week!!?  I really need to get in another 3-5 miles today...think I will go do that at the gym on the treadmill and give my body a little break from the pavement.  My feet are throbbing.  I really think it's time for some new running shoes.  My son stepped on my left great toe last night and it hurts like you wouldn't believe!!  I hadn't realized it, but that toe nail is on it's way to being a casualty.  This will be my fourth loss since September.  Anyone else have this problem?   I only woke up once last night briefly... I must have really needed the rest for me to sleep 10 hours!!!  I will edit this blog after I get back from the gym...we'll see what my body will let me do. OK - 3.25 on the treadmill.  PHEW!!!

As I mentioned in my blog today, I'm all about the sleep these days!! Good for you getting those 10 hours!

Ask Kelli about nails falling off. She's on the Hot Discussion board. I think hers have fallen off. If not, she'll know whose have.

I went to a bigger shoe and that cured mine, just a half a size bigger, and it made all the difference in the world but they may not work for everybody;-)

Good job today.

Forgot to mention that this morning's run was quite windy; 10-15 mile per hour gusts make it a bit of a challenge to keep the pace. I actually bought these shoes a little bigger this time around. My last ones, I kept getting blisters on the tips of my toes, now I just lose the nail entirely. Just weird and it hurts!!!

I agree try half a size bigger or a size up, but my trainers fit me perfect, and when I up the mileage the nails fall off, LOL.

My son stepped on my toe last year and caused never ending problems, the whole family know to stay away from the toes I go mad if anyone goes near my feet, even my dog Tyson hes an American akita weighing in at 13 stone, he knows to stay away from the toes LOL

btw nice run today :)

Very nice miles this week. That is great that you're still getting out even though your feet aren't feeling the best.

I think changing your shoes might help with the toe nails. I would go talk to the folks at the local running store. Good luck :)

Thanks Scott...it is a bit of a challenge for me to buy shoes here in Mexico. I can't find a place that sells anything more than Nike, Adidas, Converse, and New Balance....plus I don't speak spanish... need I say more? I'm going to put into Babel fish what I need, translate it over to spanish and then print it out to take with me before I go shopping... we'll see if that helps!!
