No run today.  Suppose to be my day off but still have too much energy to burn.  Swam 2 miles at the rec center.  First mile pushed the pace and did it in 24:36 (about 2 minutes slower than my training pace when I was doing tris regularly).  Second mile I put myself into cruise control and did in in 31:06.

You don't get a "runner's high" from swimming obviously but it has its own attraction.  I think part of the attraction is you really turn off the world around you, kind of like sensory deprevation.  You don't hear anything but a little splashing and all you see is the blue water.  Very relaxing.

Nice. I wish I could swim that good.

I wish I could swim like that. I need to give it another try. Would like to be able to swim well enough to at least complete a sprint tri without embarrassing myself!
