Prs:

1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

Quick 4 on the treadmill during little one's naptime.  I'll get 2 more tonight.  I'm feeling really good on this 6 a day protocol.  But now I'm thinking that my record for longest run ever is miserably short--only 2 more miles.  I really need to break that sometime soon.

Oooo, and who suggested bodyglide?  JFogg, I think.  That stuff works MIRACLES.

Great job - 6 miles a day is fantastic. You'll break your longest run record in no time!

So I was sitting in my meeting today and I wasn't sure of the date and yelled out "what's today?" I thought maybe it was the 15 and we would find out if we got into Moab and for a minute I was really excitted! But then when I found out that it wasn't quickly realized that I will be out of town this weekend (breaking my only goal for the month to stay home every weekend! I forgot about the family Christmas party) so I'm going to have to wait even longer to find out! I think that I will be terribly disappointed if we all don't get in!! I signed my hubby up under Mik'L's group and he says that if they get in and I don't I will be running as him! I don't think that not doing the race will kill me, I am just way excitted to see everyone again!!! I may have to call you or someone Sat. and see it we did or not!

Michelle call me! You have my number, I presume. Or email me: Lybi@cox.net.

And thanks for the vote of confidence Jody!

Sorry I'm out of the loop, but is Moab a 1/2 or full marathon? or is it a relay? It sounds like fun!

From Brent on Fri, Dec 14, 2007 at 10:38:27

Lybi, now attacking twinkees is over the top. Bill Rogers would have a thing or two to say about that.

You are ready for that 10 mile run, find a baby sitter and have your hubby pace you thru the run.

Benn--It's a half. (But that is 4X longer than I have ever raced before.)

If you want to do it, registration ends tonight! The real name of it is the Canyonlands Half Marathon. Check it out! I think there is room in "Brurger Time" if you want to register in a FRB group. I don't think there are any relay teams.

Brent, if it weren't for twinkies there would be no hole in the ozone layer. What kind of environmentalist doesn't realize that?

From Lybi on Fri, Dec 14, 2007 at 10:51:19

Also inflation wouldn't be so bad and the housing market would be better. Trust me. I have met and talked to at least one economist for at least 5 min. so I know my stuff.

Twinkies=moral and economic ruin.

From Brent on Fri, Dec 14, 2007 at 11:45:27

Lybi, googled twinkees, now despise them. Problem, I will now need to carry cup cakes on my run instead of twinkees. All my running shorts have big twinkee pockets. Are zingers ok?

I will now be much richer without twinkees, live well and prosper.

Lybi, can't sleep at night, 1 a.m, I hope you were getting ready to run. I am surprised you did not get bomb shelled with the 5 guys in the OT and white sock for codgers from James (it likely hit home) Maybe everyone is on pins and needles waiting for the Moab Lottery results. We'll see if James reads this and gets going, if he is feeling better. Have a good running saturday. It is 13 degrees right now, me and Sylvie are trying to decide on going to the gym or bundling up and go out.
