Prs:

1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

3 miles on the treadmill followed by a lot of reading!   I watched a terrible kids movie, can't remember the name.  I decided that I absolutely MUST run a marathon at some point.  I wonder if 2009 will be it!

I've noticed the slow down in running. I have been there. Sasha and I both agreed that after having Joseph it just took too much out of me to run more than 2 miles a day. We cut down my miles and things went swell for awhile. Then I became pregnant with Jacob and it was an okay pregnancy...I could still run and felt tired on and off but I was pregnant..no big deal right. Okay now don't go out and start running 5 miles a day after I tell you this part of the story or anything....but...I feel SOOO much better this pregnancy and I've been running more. Crazy? I don't know but Sasha and I have learned that for my body anyway 5 miles a day seems to clean me out better and keep me healthier.

The only thing that got me out of my 2 mile slump though was that I found some great running partners that tricked me into not thinking about running so many miles. Adrianne (Crumpy) was really the lady that did it. She was great and brought out a little bit of my competitve side too because I didn't really want my running partner to totally beat the socks off me in every race...so I worked harder.

Anyway...to make a long comment longer(sorry)...I fell in love with the power of running again and am grateful for the health it brought me. I think you are awesome and I know you'll find that niche for yourself too. Good luck.

Hey- come and run TOU with me next fall... or I'll come down there and run one in the winter w/you. I just have to run one before I turn 41 (ap 29 2010). Silly, I know, but oh well :D

Nice 3 miles - I debate the Marathon thing every year. This year though I just need to do it and get it over with and then decide if I want to do another.

Whoa!!! That was a random post - first you're talking about a stupid kids movie and all of a sudden you're running a marathon!!!! (Ironic, today I decided to SHOOT myself if I ever considered running a marathon! ha!) So, where did your decision come from? We, your faithful readers, need more details!! Elaborate. ; )

Must....Run....Marathon! I think we all need to try it at least once and see if we ever want to do it again! How can we just watch other people do it and not try it ourselves?! Must...Run....Marathon!

Lybi got bitten by the marathon bug! It's contagious, you know. I've gotta say, there's nothing like it. And I would meet you in Tempe sometimes for long runs. That should be reason enough to do it. :-)

Wow! You guys make me want to go ruuun! In the absence of real running buddies, virtual running buddies are a great pick me up. (Smell nicer too...)

Thanks for sharing your wisdom, enthusiasm, and humor.
