Prs:

1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

KILLER switching from working out at night, which was pushing our sleep schedule later and later, to working out at 5 ungodly o'clock.  Oddly enough, I had a great day, though.  It's good to get a jump on the day before the kids get destructive, I mean, up.

Did plyometricsX, which is the HARDEST of all the P90X workouts.  I tried to run right after.  Hahaha, it was funny.  I had to really crack the ol' whip to get these reluctant bessies to GO.

Ran 1.4, did 15 min. of stair stepping and 15 min. of walking

Big day for my legs!  They felt hot all day long.  Hope they are building muscle.

BTW, I was in bed early enough to get 8 hours of dilectable slumber, but little ones conspired to keep me up for 2 hours mid-sleepytime.

Yoga at the gym, which was a joke--I had to miss the (best) hardest part when the kidzone pulled me out to deal with a big smelly situation.  This is my life.  Poop magnet.  Entirely TOO much poop today.  I even got bombed by a bird at the park.  It was way up high, too.  I thought a rock hit my leg.  Extremely bad luck on my part, I think, as I was SITTING UNDER A RAMADA.  Malicious bird pooped right into the wind.

Ran 1.4 and walked 45 min. with my little cub scouts.  We're doing a food drive, and we were passing out flyers.

I'm sure all of you are dying to know how I am doing in the weight loss challenge.  1st week I lost 6.2 pounds (not 6.8).  Last week I only lost .6 BUT according to my biometric scale I gained 2 pounds of lean body weight, so I'm still feeling really good about it.  My personal trainer Mason was tickled with the increase in muscle.  He wants me to be buff.  If it was totally up to him, I'd be Lybi-zilla!  But I want to be light so I can run well.  Plus, I really like being at least 50 pounds lighter than James.

Ran 1.4

Walked 2 hours (putting up a bajillion flyers for the cub scout food drive)  Sheesh!

20 min. step

Hmmm, I am starting to seriously wonder why I have not lost any weight this week.  I look thinner when I look in the mirror (but you know how subjective that is) but the scale says absolutely no change this week.  I don't like that.  I feel like I am working pretty hard--adhering to the food plan, doing the required exercise etc.  My gut feeling is that my body has kind of adjusted to this amount of calories and activity.  I wonder what I could do to confuse it again.  My options are a little bit limited--I can't do anything too crazy because I am still providing my baby with 90% of her calories.  There is a possibility that I am not getting enough fat.  My sources of fat include 2 whole eggs, a TEAspoon of natural PB (30 calories), half of an avodado, and whatever fat is in 2 cups of 1% milk.  Oh, and a couple of times a week I eat fish, which has 75 cal. of fat.  No olive oil or butter etc.

By the way, if any of you have an idea for a meal that has between 340-370 calories, 20-24 grams of protein, no sugar or white flour, and hopefully including a whole grain, PuuuuLEASE send it my way.   Bored of the same 5 meals, I am.

About 2000 calories because today I had my 700 calories "cheat meal."

NO running.  As a matter of fact, I didn't feel very good today.  The weird thing is that I had another migraine headache.  This is my 2nd one in my life.  VERY odd.  I am not really a headachey person.  I almost never get headaches.  Then all of a sudden about a month ago I had a VERY pronounced visual scintillating scotoma followed by a headache and sensitivity to light.  Then another one today.  Why is this happening all of a sudden, I wonder.  No one else in my family has these, to my knowledge.  Probably I should go to the doctor.  But I HATE going to the doctor.  I always feel stupid, especially for things like this, where there really isn't anything wrong, it's just a weird thing.

Did "Legs and Back X."  I was so happy to see that I was actually stronger than last week.  I was able to do the one legged wall squats this time.  Yippee!  I love it when you can see real progress.

1711 calories and a nice, leisurely walk with my kids, 1.3 miles.  Ahhhh, the Sabbath.

P.S. James is sick and moaning, and kept getting up in the night--that is why the atrocious sleep.  Also, I had a nightmare that woke me up for awhile.

1630 calories.  I've been really focusing on getting about 1/3 of my calories in each meal from fat.  And my weight starting dropping really fast again.  The scale has dropped lower than I have been since I had Danielle (yea).

Hallelujah for family!  My brother Grant and his family, plus my 2 WONDERFUL parents came to our house today.  I still got a short run in, but I skipped my strength workout.  Tomorrow I will make Grant do it with me.  He needs a challenge for the ol' paunch (hehehe).  I just love that he can't defend himself in the comments because he doesn't have a fastrunningblog account, yet.  I dominate, Grant.

Holy Shmokes!  I am so behind on my blogging.  That's because I'm spending every available minute exercising!  Truly.  In fact I have to go to bed right now so I can wake up at 5:30 and work out again.  But rest assured, I am running!  Everyday! (Except I missed last Thursday, dag-nabit.)  And I am also walking and doing stair-type stuff every day and in addition either a 1 hour weight workout or a 15 min. ab workout (alternating days).  Bleh!  I don't think I could ever have done this had I not adjusted to running twice a day a year ago or whenever it was.

P.S.  I lost 2.6 pounds last week.  Yea!

Also, I think that my personal trainer thinks I have a shot at winning.  He gave me a training "scholarship" as long as I keep loosing weight like this.  You know what's weird?  I had much better results loosing weight when I started ensuring that I get enough healthy fats.  100 calories from healthy fats per meal=bye bye adipose tissue.  And that's all I have to say.  I am an exercising FOOL!

P.P.S.  Why do all personal trainers seem to hate running so much?
