My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

Morning mile at 11:20.

Ran a good mile with my six year-old (Sam) this evening.  I can't believe how fast he is improving!  I thought he wouldn't be able to run a whole mile yet.  He made me work to keep up.  I wonder if he was going faster than my own run.  One tricky thing is that he runs in bursts.   So he jogs a long for about half the time, and then takes off like he is trying to ditch me the rest of the time.  It's funny.

I'm going to take tomorrow off because I have a 4.2 mile race on Saturday.  Wish me luck!

Jog a mile tomorrow instead of full rest.

Awww maaaan. Okay--I'll do it.

P.S. How's your piano practice coming along?

From Sasha Pachev on Mon, Apr 09, 2007 at 10:20:26

Worked with Sarah on a few simple songs. Got to the point where I can play a note if she names it within a second.

Excellent. Keep playing the songs you have already learned to improve your fluency. Maybe when we come through Utah this summer we could stop & say "hi". You can play your best song for me.
