1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

Lovely little twilight run with Mik'L and Shauna.  It was my first time to meet Shauna--what a treat!  I hope we can do this again sometime.  We ran around  a humoungous lake--crossing over it twice on suspension bridges.  It was fun to talk.  I discovered that running in really deep sand can hurt as much as a very steep hill!  Lucky for me the sandy stretches weren't that long.  Ave. pace 10:34.

James and I got up at 4:30 to watch the trials.  I was quite shaken by the death of Ryan Shay!  This is partly due to the fact that I've had to come pick up James from an ambulance after a run.  I just feel so sad for his wife and family...

Congratulations Paul and Sean!  You are a credit to the blog and to distance running!  Logan, I am so sorry it didn't turn out as you had hoped, but I am so grateful you are okay.  You have only just begun to see where your talent and dedication can take you!  Nobody makes the Olympic Trials in marathon after only 3 years of running!   It is just amazing.

Thanks for the run...I had a blast! And thanks for being my chauffeur! I was glad to get a run in too. Hopefully I will see you before May (in Moab?).

Hey, isn't Moab in March? I also read that Shauna said see you in May to Mik'l is that in refrence to Moab also? Just wondering!! BTW, I love your quote....I feel the exact same way!!!(sometimes I even feel a little guilty about that, but not very often, He,He!)

Thanks for the note in my blog. Us old guys have as much fun as you young ones. Keep up the good work as you continue to extend your running base. As long as you can truthfully say that you love to run, that is a good thing. Later, Paul

Hey Lybi! Sounds like you had a great (although sandy) run w/ the gals. It is wonderful how we've all met through this blog- looking forward to meeting Shauna now too.
