My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

I'm DOWN!  I think I broke my little toe yesterday.  I stubbed it just a little, but didn't even slow down bc I was in a hurry.  Later, I took the time to look at it bc it was bugging me and it looked just like a cherry tomato!  Round, red, swollen and shiny.  Since then it's become rather bothersome, throbbing and OOPS, I accidentally stubbed it again today.  Ug!  I have no patience for bones that crumble on the slightest contact with furniture!  I've never broken anything before ... Grumble grumble grumble.  Okay enough whining.  It doesn't hurt to walk on, but it does hurt a lot to have any kind of shoe on.  If the swelling is down tomorrow I'll try taping it and going for a run.  Or I could always try running on grass barefoot.  *Sigh*

I lost 1.2 lbs this last week.  So that's 6.4 lbs total in 5 weeks.

That stinks about the toe! When it rains it pours! You may be able to run barefoot on a track also. Good news on your weight loss though! I'm jealous! I've lost 1.2 lbs total in my first two weeks at WW. Its slow progress, but I can feel it is making a difference...

Are you able to run barefoot? If yes, try it on grass or treadmill.

So sorry to hear about the toe. I broke a toe one time on the corner of my bed. It doesn't stop the running but it takes FOREVER to heal completely. What a pain.

Hey Hebe! I may have lucked out on the toe issue. It feels so much better that I'm thinking it may not have been broken after all. Whatever it was, it cause a LOT of swelling, but it is almost all gone now.
