1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

2 miles with the loaded double jogging stroller.  I decided I had time if I hurried, which translated into 11:16 for the first mile and 11:45 for the second.  Ah!  In order to get the first wheel off the ground, I have to jump up onto the bar and dangle there kicking my feet for a second or two.  My neighbors must get a big laugh out of my running.

Hey!  I found a race that seems like it was made just for me next Friday, the 24th.  It's in the evening, so it will be easy to get a sitter and it is very close to our home.  And since it's on Friday instead of Saturday, James will be able to pace me. Plus it is the first year for this race, so hopefully it will be small.  You know I would just die of happiness if I were to actually get an age division award.  The only bad thing is that it will be very hot, being at night, so everybody pray for rain!

Bravo! Your arms are going to be wonderfully sculpted from all that double stroller pushing- way to go!

Are you kidding? I'm getting a laugh just picturing your explanation! I am impressed with your ability to still run 11:30 pace with a huge double jogging stroller pushing about 70 pounds worth of boys.

Adam is fine! The Dr. said he will be just a little crooked when he first gets out of the cast, but that as he grows, it will straighten out. Very weird. However, I am relieved and happy.

And Christi, you are right about the upper body workout. My arms and shoulders are as sore today as if I had spent an hour in the gym yesterday.

Thanks James!

I've always thought mom's have buff arms- I don't know how you can carry those heavy car seats around with the kid in it, let alone run pushing a double stroller! I guess one day maybe I'll have buff mom arms. Good job!

ROFL! I love it! You're hilarious. Your effort is inspirational. And let's not forget that by 7:30am here, the sun is full-on hot, already! Let's see... I have 38 + 24 + 21lbs of girls I'd have to push to go out on my own after the bus takes off. Eek! 'Guess I'll have to get used to running first. hehe -But you go girl!

You are so fun, Lib!! I'd LOVE to catch you running on video camera. I'm sure it would make me laugh even on a bad mommy day!! I love you!! P.S. I'm gonna go buy some running shoes and try to get my own blog on this website. You and Kristina are inspiring me ... slowly but surely! Good luck on your race on Friday

GO LAURA! My older sister, you guys, my idol all growing up (and the most common victim of my compulsive borrowing syndrome as a teenager.)
