1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

2 miles with Christine this morning.  I successfully dragged her down to 10:30 pace on ave.  Felt great, wanted to go faster.  2 more tonight and I'm home free--back to 5 a day tomorrow.

Look at this cute picture of part of the FBR cheering section at St. George:

There!  I did it.  This technological feat opens a whole new world of possibilies for me, blogwise.

PM--2 miles completed with the jogging stroller, slow.  Felt great.

That's quite festive! Good job getting back in to the miles so quickly!

Good job with the mileage today! Nice pic too- cute border & everything! Did you notice that you girls & the "fast running blog" poster made it to the gallery page of photos from this year's SGM? Thought that was cool. So do you know if Michelle is taking charge of signing us up for Moab? Isn't that deadline soon? Heather & I are in, just not sure if I should be doing anything...

What are Christine's PRs?

From Bethany on Tue, Oct 30, 2007 at 22:47:46

Congrats getting back up in mileage. Good luck getting your 5 tomorrow (though Im sure you wont need it.)

I think on a day when you want to go faster you probably should. Listen to your body and you won't go wrong. No need to drag your time either up or down to hit a target your body doesn't want. When I feel great I crank up the speed. When I feel less good than usual I slow it down.

From Lybi on Wed, Oct 31, 2007 at 09:33:33

Heber, I'm going slow because I'm just recovering from a muscle strain. I agree with your philosophy about running fast and slow according to how your body feels, though. And thanks for checking in!

Sasha--Christine hasn't done much racing, but her 5K PR is in the high 23 range, her one 10K was 53:55, and her one marathon (after just an 18 week training program) was 4:15. I definitely think she has a lot of potential. Her son is crazy fast. I think he's the youngest guy on the CC team at his school, but he almost always finishes top three.

Hey I'm home and just getting on to register Moab. I'll let you know as soon as I get done! As for the name I like then both! But as far as I go it's more 100% crazy, 50% dedicated but since this a team effort.... he he!

I actually am going to use the blogger one and then if we need another team they can use the second one! I'll post on the forum as soon as I'm done too!

From Michelle on Thu, Nov 01, 2007 at 21:41:44

I got on to register and they changed it to open up on Nov. 15th-Dec. 15th the way I see it, if I wrong let me know, a little too much sun and a little jet lag could be affecting the brain? :) Oh by the way, oh so clever with the pics and borders... how did you do that? I'm technically challenged that would never work for me!
