1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

2.2  just below 10:00 pace with Christine and then she had to go. (I didn't exactly complain that it was shorter, though, I was GLAD to stop today.)   My tummy was complaining about the half a bucket of movie theatre popcorn I ate last night.  *Blush*  It's funny, greasy popcorn doesn't usually bother me.   But since I've been eating really well these last couple weeks (from a nutritional standpoint, anyway) I've noticed my tummy is starting to have more of an opinion about the less healthy stuff.  Jeez, give it an inch and it takes a mile!

1.5 With my boys--pushing the jogging stroller.

I LOVE movie popcorn! I used to eat it more often, but it doesn't agree with me anymore either. What movie did you see?

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one to experience new-found stomach discomfort after going to the more Sasha-like diet when trying to go back and eat the old bad stuff. Even with ice-cream my favorite of all I can't seem to put away near as much as I used to before starting to feel kind of yuck. It actually makes me a little sad in some ways.

You know what I'm really sad about not being able to eat as much? In-n-out Burger! I love that place-it's the only red meat I eat! But it does make me feel sick now if I eat a burger and fries there.

Well I've only been at it a few days and most of the blog stuff has been encouraging but I'm a little nervous...I love all of that stuff, should I continue?

Lybi I'm good for four or five, we can just run fast. I definatley want to shower before too, but I'm not as fast as you so don't get any speedy ideas!

From Michelle on Thu, Oct 04, 2007 at 15:51:43

Hey Lybi do you make that rice yourself or buy it, if so how?

From Lybi on Thu, Oct 04, 2007 at 16:03:16

Michelle--I have a cooking slave make it for me...Ok ok, I'll admit it, James is the cook at our house. But just make up a large batch of whatever you have for dinner (whole wheat spaghett, fried rice, soup, Pasta Salad or whatever else you can think of) and then keep it around for lunches and stuff. Good luck! BTW let's not run fast! I want to have energy to cheer like crazy. Be warned, I was voted "most enthusiastic" in high school. :)

Shauna--I saw the first "Mr. Bean" movie with Holly. She is trying to convert me to Mr. Beanism. You have to be in the right mood for old Beanie, but I was yesterday and I laughed a lot, which is better than any food, I think.

Tom--You just need to find a healthy indulgence--something you like a lot that is still good for you. And then let me know what the heck it is so I can have some!

Oh yes I remeber how lucky you are! Well when HE makes fried rice does HE use white or brown. I have a friend who avoids sugar/white flour and she stays away from white rice too.

"most enthusiastic" Gosh with a cheerleader like that maybe I should have ran the SGM!!! You may have been able to pull even me through! (He,He) Looking forward to it! :) :)

Brown rice is DISGUSTING! I won't touch it.

From Lybi's Mom on Sat, Oct 06, 2007 at 09:46:11

I ran Sam to school yesterday, pushing the stroller with the 2 boys in it. It doesn't steer very good so I can see how it will develop muscles in the arms and shoulders. I kept having to ask Sam if we could walk for a little bit. He's really fast, and fit. This was my first time to run since I still walk with a limp. Today my left thigh is sore, not my right, which seems strange since my sore foot is the right one. Maybe I push off more with my left, which I guess would make sense. I also have sore shoulders. BTW Brown rice is great. Put a little wild rice and quinoa in with it, some bouillion, onions and celery, butter if you are not on a low fat diet, and you will love it!
