Running Accomplishments:

I ran my first marathon as a teenager in 1981 with my Dad (The Coronado Marathon). Since then I've run St, George (3x) Utah Valley (3x) Ogden (1 full, 2 halves) Park City (1 x) Boston Marathon (1x) Washington DC (1x) Moab Half Marathon (6x) ,Ye Old Freedom Festival 5 & 10K (a million x) and many others.

But I'm all done with that now.  I'm officially a jogger.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My running goal is to keep on keepin' on.

Jog into the sunset.

Could new (unconstructed) running shoes cause me to be more sore than normal?  My knees and hips are sore like arthritis.    Ran in the a.m. w/ Cath.  I hate/love the rain.  Nice to be cool, not fun to get pelted in the face and feel your tendons shrink.  The overcast sky makes it hard to stay on top of my energy level.  I'm back on Iron again.  Jos said it took a full year to recover from episodes of anemia.  I need to stick with it.

No idea on the shoes - I'm a pampered princess with mine and just keep using the same ones.

I'm currently working on iron in my diet too! I think I've been having some issues that will resolve much better if I put some in! How much per day do you take? I'm currently trying out 30mg/day supplemented. Does that sound right?

Marion-- Turks & Caicos here we come.

Rad--be very careful with the iron. 1. you can only absorb 10 ml at a time 2. liquid form is best absorbed 3. 10 ml in the morning 10 ml at night 4. take with water or orange juice 5. never take it with meat, or dairy products (the iron binds to the calcium --never to be absorbed-- and it causes stomach issues). I would only go as high as 30 ml under a doctor's supervisoin since you can also have too much iron and it's equally as bad. Sorry, Iron is tricky!

you can get liquid iron from the pharmacy or the health food store. The pharmacy kind is WAAAAAY cheaper ($8 as opposed to $35).

The Pharmacy? I need you to come be my personal shopper! I have some pills (I remember you saying to not take with calcium!) that are 15mg each, but I'm taking them at the same time - so I'd better stop that and just do 1/day. Or, have my personal shopper come get me some stuff :)
