Running Accomplishments:

I ran my first marathon as a teenager in 1981 with my Dad (The Coronado Marathon). Since then I've run St, George (3x) Utah Valley (3x) Ogden (1 full, 2 halves) Park City (1 x) Boston Marathon (1x) Washington DC (1x) Moab Half Marathon (6x) ,Ye Old Freedom Festival 5 & 10K (a million x) and many others.

But I'm all done with that now.  I'm officially a jogger.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My running goal is to keep on keepin' on.

Jog into the sunset.

Ran a quick easy 4 to dedicate the rest of the morning to 12 new inches of silky dry powder.  It was great snow, but windy and Zero visiblity.  Tomorrow I have to do 18 EIGHTEEN miles.  I'm only going to be able to get to 20-21 before DC. But it's better than nothing. I'm going to miss running with Jos and Ericka tomorrow, but there is no way I can get up as early as they need to tomorrow.  It's going to take me all day to get that 18 miles in the bank.  I hear it's going to snow some more so I may have to do half on the ground and half on the treadmill.  We'll see what happens.

So happy you got to enjoy the greatest snow on earth!! There are people who live in Utah all their life and not know what the're missing!

Are you kidding? Why would any of us live in Utah if it wasn't for the skiing? or the trails/mountains? Everyone I know and love lives on the East coast. I feel like the skiing is the thing that makes it WORTH living here without feeling like I want to die before I retire. It IS the greatest snow on earth. It beats even Colorado and Idaho...though maybe not Wyoming at times. Once running and skiing are over for me, if I'm lucky I'll head toward the beach on the East Coast or maybe No. Ca or Portland. For those who don't need the skiing or outdoors, I guess Utah is full of enough good people to keep you company while you live in the middle of 700 Walmart's and Home Depot's....But without the skiing, I don't think I could handle it.

Sorry, I get cranky on big mile weeks and today's run sucked. I probably shouldn't rant against Utah when I feel this way. I am grateful for a beautiful and peaceful place to live. And I love the people. The skiing and the mountains make it the best.

also, Walmarts and Depots don't have 's unless they are posessive and I feel like I'm losing my mind every time I reread my own blog entries...ok, I'm going to stop while I'm ahead. I really needed a run on the JRP with you guys today instead of going it alone.
