Easy five miler. I couldn't help but feel like I was flying. Here's the problem. This was supposed to be an easy run. (I know, I know, Sasha is going to get after me for not running an easy run, easy. -- Well it seemed easy until I down loaded the data when I got home!). The last four miles were at a pace I would be happy with for my marathon. At this point, I am not even sure how fast I am going to run on October 7th. I have to talk to my coach and do a couple of tests to see what this body will let me do. I just want to run negative splits. Sigh.

I am so happy that your body is strong and responding well to your dedicated training. I have to admit that it cracks me up to randomly read messages and people are worried what Sasha is going to say....he does have that way with his advice....I should know. Anyway, thanks for the sympathy with the crashes I've been having. I had another one tonight and I'm feeling like I'll just need to carry food with me when I run. I can't worry too much about what's causing it right now....because I simply don't have the time for a big problem...My baby is over a year and nurses a couple times a day. I didn't get crashes when he was little....don't know..Thanks again.

Great job Lulu! I'm sure it is a good sign that your easy runs are getting faster without too much effort. Maybe it just means that you can bump your MP up a little. What is your MP right now?

Sarah--you are running longer now than you were then. I think it is a good idea to refuel during your runs. Nursing always made eating on time critical for me. Instead of getting hungry gradually, it was usually with a bang.

I saw your post, but I haven't figured it out yet. I like your idea about posting the book stuff there, but if you don't read those books you are sooooo missing out! Just read and then join in!

Great job on the run, I'm a little jealous of your increased speed and fittness, but good for you, you have earned it!

Thanks for your posts, and sorry it has taken me so long to respond here. I've actually been thinking about what to write. As you people might have figured out, Lulu is a nickname I have had for years. Nearly all my life I have had someone call me Lulu. The bizarre thing is, many people came up with this independently not knowing that I have been previously called Lulu. So the bottom line is the nickname allows me to remain relatively anonymous.

When Jeff and I started this challenge, we agreed not to post anything that would personally identify the other person. This is particularly important for me, as I'll put it gently: I have someone at work who pays an inordinate and inappropriate amount of attention to me. So why do I write all this? Because I don't want to sound like a snot when I won't post my marathon times and pace etc. These posts could easily identify me (ie look up the Chicago marathon time of a runner from Louisiana with my posted time/pace and put a name to this blog). So that is the long answer to Lybi's question. I am not sure if this site allows for a pm, but I will happily respond to more personal questions via pm if someone sends me one. If a pm is not possible, I might set up an email account for that and post it. Interestingly, Sasha knows exactly who I am, and without knowing my situation, I am grateful, that he has respected my desire to remain relatively anonymous.

Ok, I know that is not the expected answer to the question but it is the truth.

Well your secret is safe with us...I asked Sasha if he knew who you were and he doesn't know either so you are totally fine. Of course know that I've said something he is horribly curious which is a really funny state with Sasha...he can't rest til he knows the answer. I have to admit I did wonder about the names LuLu and Bubbles. They are wonderful happy names but I wondered if they were your real names or not. I was just too shy to ask.

Sorry about the problems you are having.

P.S. I just read a Biography of Lousia May Alcott (don't be too impressed...it was the kid version that my 7 year old brought home) I learned in it that she had a niece named after her that she raised and named LuLu...thought of you. :)

Sarah,

Sasha has enough information about me to get a lot of information via Google, if he's curious. He might find it quite interesting. I don't particularly mind, as I decided from the beginning that I could trust him. He seems extremely honest. And I think he has better things to do in his life than to stalk me.

From sarah on Sun, Sep 23, 2007 at 14:45:24

I have never met a more honest person than Sasha. He is as true as the sky is blue and the grass is green. We are happy to have you on the blog and I promise..he won't stalk you but he may give you annoying advice. He likes to harrass people into shape as he puts it...not that you need it. Have a good day. :) :)

Advice, even if it is annoying, is always welcome. Whether I take it or not is another story...:-). I think I am in pretty good shape. Although I think I could be harrassed into being a better marathoner. This blog has made my life interesting in a new way. I never thought I would want to meet people who are on this blog, but I definitely do now. It is a great community.
