Ran 4.3 easy with Bubbles in her Chariot this evening. It is easy to run a nice mellow workout with her. It does require a bit of extra work on the part of my hamstrings, but her company is nice. No Ipod, no watch, just Bubbles, the Chariot, and me. Usually she falls asleep somewhere between the first and second mile and at some point I realize I have been chatting with a sleeping baby for the last half mile :-). Today, I finally bamboozled her at about 3 miles. She is still quite sick, but I think the fresh air was good for her. She was very happy when we finished. Tomorrow, we see the doc to make sure it is just a stomach virus that has been hanging on for more than a week.  Anyway, this run felt GREAT!

This week I have 7 Yassos, a five or six mile pace run and the 15 mile run I was suppposed to run last weekend. I hope it is enough to stay ahead of Jeff. He's really starting to put in the miles.

I hope Bubbles is feeling better and that you can bet back to your training routine soon. I don't think I could manage all that-I can barely take care of myself!

Describe to me this Chariot. I am interested.

The Chariot is a fancy running stroller. It has allowed me to run with Bubbles since she was 5 weeks old. This is unusual, because you usually have to wait until the infant can hold their own head up (around 3 months old). This one has an "infant sling" that kept her completely still. She loved it then and loves it now.

The Chariot converts from a regular stroller with casters in the front to a jogging stroller with a fixed front wheel, to a bike trailer, cross country skier (not too useful in Louisiana so I don't have that piece), and literally to a chariot. The chariot format allows you to be the horse and it the chariot or it looks like a rickshaw. That enables the person to run trails with it. I don't have that attachment yet but plan to get it. I think I would run more efficiently pulling it rather than pushing it even on the roads -- especially when she gets bigger (it holds 75 pounds, but I don't think she'll still be in it when she is in 5th grade). If you live somewhere hot, then I recommend the model I have where the plastic front and sides zip off to reveal screen so that the air flows (the other model just the front zips off). It has a nice rainfly that works well in our torrential rain here. If you can't tell, I love this thing. It was the first "baby item" I purchased when I was about 5 months pregnant. It is very light weight and uses "quickie" wheel chair technology.

Wow, I need to get me one of those. So many options. I am impressed. I would probably prefer to be the horse too so I don't have to push it.

Cody, It also folds relatively flat for transport and the wheels and attachments fit inside zipped up when it is folded. Some people are put off by the initial price, but if you were to buy even just a good jogging stroller and a bike trailer then the price of the Chariot is less. Also, I only have to store the main chasse as the components that switch out are minimal. I have friends that have a very large little boy who are kicking themselves for not buying one of these, as their not-so-little guy who just turned a year this week is now too big for the Baby Jogger they have. I also like the fact that I can completely enclose her with screen and/or rainfly. This keeps the masses of mosquitos we have from carrying her away!
