15 miles in the morning.
4 miles in the afternoon.
Tinman tempo workout this morning. I had XC practice so I wasn't able to run with Dave and Clyde this morning. I did 4 miles with the team around Tonaquint Park as my warmup then started the tempo back to the house. I hit 5:48, 5:51, 5:47, 5:49, and 5:46 for the first 5 miles and then my Garmin went off. It wasn't fully charged. I kept the pace steady and knew about where the 2 extra miles ended. I then did a 4 mile cooldown. It was a good workout and I am glad to have it done. The cloud cover made it so it wasn't too terribly hot.
4 easy miles this afternoon. It was a little breezy which cooled down the weather. This was the first time running from our new house out in Ivins. We officially have everything in the house and just need to unpack it. | Comments(4) |
| | 15.25 miles in the morning 3 miles in the afternoon. I had a really good turnout for XC this morning. This made me really happy. I figured more kids would come out once school got closer. We did a nice 4.5 mile run. I then ran from Tonaquint Park to our house in Ivins. It was a nice and easy run this morning which was much needed. It felt good to have any easy morning worth of easy miles. Nice and easy 3 miles around Ivins this afternoon. It was nice and hot. | Comments(10) |

15 miles during the big workout this morning.
I woke up at 3:15 to go over to Pineview's track to do a big workout with Clyde and Dave. We had to do it early because I had XC practice and I also had meetings all day for work. It was early and yes I was pretty tired. We did a 3 mile warmup into Green Springs and then did 2 mile tempo back to the high school. Dave turned on the lights which made it more enjoyable to run that early. We did 6x1000m with 200m recovery on the track. My splits were: 3:02, 3:02, 3:02, 3:03, 3:04, 3:03. We then did a 5 mile cooldown afterwards. I am happy with the workout and it was nice to have it done for day.
On a side note, we ran upon a skunk on our warmup who lifted its tail and was about to spray us but we went anaerobic for 2 seconds towards the opposite side of the road. I dislike skunks! Luckily it didn't spray us. | Comments(3) |

11.45 miles in the morning.
8.55 miles in the evening.
I woke up and did 5 miles before cross country practice. I had the XC team do 4 hill repeats this morning. It was another great turnout this morning. It is nice to see the freshman pushing others. That is a good sign for the future. It was just over 6 miles with the team.
I had a long day full of meetings for school which made me fairly tired. I came home and took a nap and then did my run for the evening. I went out with the club and kept it really nice and easy. I had a nice time talking with Aaron, Eric, and Kamm. It made the run quite enjoyable. | Comments(5) |

8 miles in the morning.
I ran with the XC team this morning. It was a nice and easy run and nothing to exciting to report.
I was at the new high school today and finally got a tour of the place. WOW!!! It is awesome. I have a nice, big classroom and also found out that I have a coach's office in the P.E./gymnasium building. How lucky can a guy get? I am unpacking everything and getting more excited for school to start on August 12th.
I got home and did another nice and easy 4 miles with 8x100m strides at the end. Now it is time to get out and celebrate our new house and new school with Katey over dinner. | Add Comment |
| | I woke up early this morning to go and run part of the marathon course again. Bill and Dustin did 15 today while Dave, Eric, and me did just over 18. We kept the pace conversational for the first 8 miles and then stopped to get some water and then take a GU. We started easing into the tempo and finished the last 6 miles right around 6:00/mile. Eric pushed it the last 3 and really kicked it in. Once again it was nice seeing a ton of people running out on the course. Lots of people getting ready for the marathon this time of year. I took a nice nap right after I got home. | Comments(4) |
