8 miles in the morning.
12 miles in the evening.
It was a nice morning for a run. The birds were chirping and the legs felt great. I must have been working pretty hard because after I was done steam was coming from all parts of my body.
I did my workout with Paul tonight. I did 8x1000m repeats with only 60 second recovery. He wanted me at 3:07 or 5:00/mile pace for these. I hit 3:00 for the first one and knew it was a little fast. I balanced out the next 5 to be at 3:06ish, hit 3:08 for the 7th, and hit 3:10 for the last. I was pretty tired for the last two. I had to deal with the elements again. It was windy. I don't think their has been a clear day on any of my speed workouts on the track. That is life. I then did a 6 mile cooldown run. I was overall pleased with the workout though. | Comments(1) |

8 miles in the morning.
12 miles in the afternoon.
The morning runs are not as cold as they used to be. This is a good sign. Just kept it nice and easy again.
It was a nice and relaxed 12 mile without the Garmin tonight. It was a little windy but it felt good because the temperature was pretty hot.
This is unfortunately so true!

8 miles in the morning.
12 miles in the afternoon.
Another enjoyable easy 8 miler this morning.
What a day for a run! It was raining for most of the day and then the heavens opened up with the sun shining brightly down upon me for my run. This was a great day. I did 12 miles around Plain City. I only had 2 DE's (Dog Encounters) today. The lovely dog owners kept saying, "They are nice and won't bite you." Thanks for letting me know as your pet is about to bite into my flesh. I survived and ended up averaging 6:21/mile overall. | Comments(3) |

8 miles in the morning.
12.25 miles in the afternoon.
We got plenty of rain and wind last night. Kept the pace easy this morning. Plan on doing repeats on the track this afternoon.
It was rainy, snowy and windy all day today and then it cleared it up a little bit in the afternoon. I started out with a 6.75 warmup run right after track practice and then went over to Ben Lomond's track for repeats. I ended up doing 17 x 400m at 70 seconds or faster with 60 second recovery in between each one. I hit all of them between 65-69 except for one. The wind determined some of the times. A family from our neighborhood was walking at the track. One of the 7-year-old boys wanted to race a 400 with me. We hit 1:47 for the 400. He is a fast little guy. It was funny because with about 100 meters to go he said that I looked like a "machine" running around the track. What a kid! I hope I can have a cool kid like this someday. I ended up doing my cooldown with Katey. She came over and did 3 miles around the track. This was the most 400's I have ever done. It was a great workout but I was pretty tired afterwards. | Comments(3) |

8 miles in the morning. 6 miles in the evening.
My legs were still very tired from last night. I kept it really slow this morning. Another gorgeous morning for a run. I got my run in later than usual do to hosting a junior high track meet. We basically had to explain to the kids what to do for each race so we got done really late. I ran an easy 6 miles and then hurried home to my beautiful wife. Dinner was yummy! | Comments(1) |
| | I woke up early and went for my long run. I did my run in cold and windy weather. It wasn't the most enjoyable run I've ever had but it is in the books. I went up towards North Ogden and then west of town a little bit out towards the BDO. I had to stop for a VRPB (very real potty break) about 6 miles into the run. I didn't worry to much about pace today but just wanted to make sure everything was nice and steady. I then went to Davis High for a track meet that lasted 9 hours! I saw James there so we talked about Wasatch Back and running in general. Always fun! I am happy to have the week over so now I can start to taper for Ogden. I can't believe it is only 3 weeks away! | Comments(2) |
