8.10 miles in the morning.
12.05 miles in the afternoon.
My legs were a little sore this morning but it was nice to shake the legs out for 8 + miles. I felt good after I was done.
I ran 4.5 miles with the guys on the track team and then put them through an interval workout. I planned on going to do my speed workout with Paul Pilkington but decided it wouldn't be good to jump right into it again. I will take it easy for the next couple days and might do a little speed workout on Thursday to get me ready for Moab this weekend. I finished out the day with another 7.5 miles at an easy pace. | Add Comment |

8 miles in the morning.
12 miles in the afternoon.
The quads feel much better today. I am really happy about that. Really looking forward to seeing lots of people down in Moab. It should be a lot of fun.
It was pretty cold this afternoon (32 degrees). I did an easy 5.5 miles with the track team which included 1 mile tempo at 5:30 pace. I then finished off the day by doing another 6.5 miles. The legs are almost all the way back to normal. I am not sure how I will do in Moab. I am thinking at least sub-1:09. | Add Comment |

8 miles in the morning.
12.5 miles in the afternoon.
It was chilly once again this morning. I am glad that I survived this morning's run.
I ran with the girls today to see how they are doing. They are pushing each other very well. We did 4.5 miles today. I then did another 8 miles to finish out the day. I am still keeping the pace slower to help the legs recover from last weekend. I talked with Paul Pilkington tonight and talked about Moab. He wants me to do a speed workout tomorrow and then treat the race on Saturday as a training run. I think that will be best. I will see what I end up doing here very soon. | Comments(1) |

8 miles in the morning.
8 wonderful miles in the morning. The legs aren't feeling too bad now. Yeah!
I ran an easy 2 miles with the track team and then put them through a nice speed workout on the track. I ran another 7 easy miles after practice and then did my track workout. It was a little chilly but I wanted to get it done. I did 12 x 400m on Fremont High's track. I did them all between 68-70 seconds. I did 90 second recovery jogs between each one. My legs felt good afterwards which made me real happy. Today was a good running day. | Comments(1) |

8 miles in the morning.
I ran another easy 8 miles this morning. I have to confess something. On the way to work I saw a thermometer showing 17 degrees! I yelled in the car, "WARM-UP!" It could happen. We will have to wait and see. | Comments(3) |

Canyonlands Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:12:51, Place overall: 7, Place in age division: 3 | | I talked with Paul Pilkington and decided to do a training run today during the half marathon instead of racing it. I ran 5 miles before the race for a nice little warmup. I ran over to pick up my packet and just get the legs loosened up. My legs are still recovering from last week so I decided to do the first 9 miles at 5:40-5:50 pace and then throw in some tempo miles for the last 4. I started out with Cody and did a mile or so with him and then eventually caught up to Walter and ran with him until mile 9. I then kicked it in and ran the last 4 miles in: 5:09, 5:13, 5:20, and 5:11. I ended up doing the whole race in 5:33/mile overall. I felt fine after the race and was glad that I didn't race it. I saw the winning time and knew I could have hit that today. I ended up passing 6 guys in the last 4.10 miles so I got a little bit of "racing" in for the day. I am really shooting for my PR at the Strider's Half on April 5th. I did a 2.4 mile cooldown after the race while going back and running in with Nick Froerer from the blog. He had a good race today. The course today had a lot of uphill and it didn't bother my legs to much. I am very happy about that. It was good seeing some of the Fast Running Bloggers down here as well. Katey and I met up with Paul, Stacy, David Nelson, Cody, Bethany, Ben, and Anna to indulge on some brugers. I had some chicken and only got the leftovers of Paul's bruger but it was worth it. It was yummy! Nothing like eating a hamburger with a bratwurst at the same time. | Comments(12) |
