8 miles with the TEAM this morning out on the Arizona Strip. 7:05/mile. Pushed it the last 4 back. Great to see.

6 more miles running with Ethan Ashby. He got home from his mission a couple months ago. It was great catching up with him. 7:20/mile.

6 miles with Kevin this morning from Little Valley Park.

Added another 4 miles with the TEAM as they did hill repeats. Found a great spot to do them.

Hopped in and did some 1200s, 800s, and 400s with Lily at the high school to help her with her workout. 5 miles total.

The plan was to do 50 miles on the original Zion 50 course with Kevin to ring in the new year. We started and the weather was amazing. We started at Virgin Park and then ran to the base of Gooseberry Mesa and climbed up it. The views were incredible. We made it to the top and cruised around on the rim of Gooseberry. I forgot how tricky it is to get into a rhythm of any kind on this section. Tons of rock and tight turns. Great for mountain biking though from what I hear. We knew were we close to the Gooseberry Mesa Trailhead but somehow missed the turn and ended up running 7 extra miles on top of the mesa. No bueno. Got to the first stop and drank plenty of fluids and ate some food. It was welcome to get to this point. I was feeling pretty good but Kevin's stomach was acting up. We made it up to Highway 59 and Kevin decided to call it quits. He said I should just keep going and he would ride in the car. I climbed up to Little Creek Mesa and realized that Kevin wasn't doing great so I decided to stop at 35 miles so he could go home and get better. I was a little bummed to not get 50 miles in for the day but 35 is still pretty good.

Happy 2021 to everyone!
