Solid run today.  I slacked off a little and didn't run until 11:30 but that made for perfect weather so I'm glad I didn't run earlier.  I ran 7 miles around the desperate housewives loop to Tualatin HS, then ran 1 loop around the xc course before starting my tempo portion of the run.  Backing up....there was a 5K this morning but I missed the early sign up so if I ran it would have cost $30.  I decided to save my $ and try for a solid race-type workout instead.  I decided on 4x1600m repeats with 400m (2 min) rest in between.  My goal pace was around 5:45 but when I came through the first at exactly 5:20, I quickly adjusted.  The first mile felt EZ so if I could hit the next 3 the same, I'd be happy.  2nd mile in 5:18 and 3rd in 5:13.  Final mile felt great and I was really surprised when I crossed the line in 5:02.  Finished off the run with 3 easy miles home.
