Back on the treadmill - first time since Thanksgiving of 2009!
I'm going to follow the same marathon training schedule I"ve done before, although this time I'm going to do the 1/2 marathon schedule.
Did the mileage in 35 minutes with a run/walk of 1 min run/2 min walk with 5 min warm up and cool down. | |
| | Started a 30 day program on a DVD from the Biggest Loser show. It starts out pretty easy and gets harder each day. Today was just a ten minute cardio but it was a killer 10 minutes. |

Yesterday was super busy and I didn't get in any exercise but did great on my eating.
Today was 28 minutes on the treadmill with 5 min warm-up and cool down and then 1 min run/2 min walk.
I also did yesterday's video segment from the biggest loser DVD I'm following. It was a 10 minute upper body workout. It was easy but I know its going to get harder. |

Read a book all morning so was very late getting to my exercise - after lunch.
Did 10 minute cardio and 10 min ab workouts from BL DVD. The twins did it with me and did a great job. IT was really cute.
Just from those short segments I've been sore. |

Week 2 of following the running schedule.
38 min total with 5 min warm-up, 2 min run/2 min walk, followed by 4 min cool down.
Felt good most of the run but towards the very end felt a little sick to my stomach.
The most encouraging thing was I got the scale this morning for the first time in a week and was down by 2.5 pounds! Yeah! And that was after having choc cake and ice cream twice over the weekend. The first time was worth it - at a dinner party and so yummy. The 2nd time wasn't worth the calories - at a scout function with store bought cake that wasn't that good. That will teach me to be more careful what I choose to cheat with. | |
| | I did 2 segments of the BL DVD - one cardio and lower body workout. And then my friend Desiree came over to try it out and we did another cardio segment. They may be only 10 minute segments but they are killer. |
| | It always feels good to get "out" running on the treadmill. I did 2 min run/2 min walk with a total of 34 minutes. I felt so good I did 5 min straight at the end and then a cool down. The eating this week has been okay - a little cheat last night with a chocolate dipped cone at Arctic Circle. At least I didn't get a shake.

I decided to just do the DVD this week and follow it religiously.
So Monday was 2 10 minute cardio segments -they are hard and I really sweat doing them. It shows how out of shape I am. |
| | Today was 2 weights segments - upper and lower body. They are easier than the cardio but still a good workout. Even though its only about 20 minutes total I still feel sore. |

Did 2 segments from the BL DVD - 1 10 minute cardio workout with weights and then 1 segment of core/ab workout. It was okay.
Yesterday was terrible - no exercise and no self control. So I gotta get back on the wagon and that's always hard. |
| | Went walking with Jenny H and Erica. It was a beautiful morning. Felt good to be outside and be active - finally. |

| | Went walking with Jenny and Erica. Did the miles in a little more than an hour. Not a super fast pace. Was bummed to not run but that was okay. |
| | Had to cut it short today so i could get brooke over to the HS for summer drivers ed. same group again today and only walking but at a much faster pace. I was out for 39 min. Hope to get back to running on Wed. Went to Wasatch Running today with jenny Hammond and we both got new shoes.

| | Did a run/walk (some are now calling that wogging but I don't like the term) with Erica and Gina. It felt good to be out and running again. We were heading up Ft Union and we "ran" into Leslie. She went the rest of the way with us and it was SO FUN! She's the greatest to run with!! My back was bothering me at the beginning but it always feels better once its warmed up. |
| | Went R/W with Jenny and Erica. We met up with Leslie again about half way - so fun. We did some landmark intervals and that was fun. Leslie asked me if I wanted to run 8 miles with her tomorrow and I said YES ??? I think I'm crazy. |
| | what a great morning. Went with Leslie on the favorite Wasatch run. We started from the Bell Canyon Trailhead and went to Draper park. We ended early so we walked some on the Porter Rockwell trail. We met up with Harold and a minute later ran into my uncle and his grand-daughter. It was so good to get out and do a long run again. I really enjoyed it and didn't have too many problems. We did 2 min run / 1 min walk for most of it. The big hill really killed my knees and I found it easier to do that on the grass. We did run the whole brick wall and i felt really good at that point. I definitely could have gone longer and I was glad to feel so good after being away from it for so long. Thanks Leslie!!

I've been trying to get back to running all summer and have failed miserably. I promised myself I would start again when school started - well we are in the 3rd week of school and I finally got back on the treadmill this morning. It felt so great to get moving. I did the 2.25 in 34 min.

| | Today was a little rougher start. I did get going earlier but had troubles with my back. I had to walk slower and longer at first. Then I did intervals - ran 1/2 the track, then walked 1/2 the track (all on the treadmill). I ran the 2 miles (including the slow warm up) in 30:30 and then the rest of the 34:30 was the cool down.
