I went running with Lynn and Kirsten this morning.  I thought they'd be tired and sore after their 10 mile race yesterday, but I was wrong.  They kicked my trash!  My legs are so sore. I think I'll be stretching all through the day today.  ; )  It doesn't help that I'm starting to come down with a little head cold, either.  Good day for a nap.

I finally got new running shoes today!  I've been wanting/needing to for a while now.  I went to a different store than where I got my first pair and they had me run outside in the shoes instead of on a treadmill.  So, the guy said I actually run better in a more neutral shoe - but still an Asics.  I tried on about 5-6 different brands/types.  Yea, for new shoes.

Since I was a little nervous about having neutral rather than stabilizing shoes, I ran on the treadmill tonight - so I could return them if I had to.  So far, so good!  They feel great.   By the way, my hips have been doing great too.  It has changed my life to know how to stretch them correctly when they start feeling tight or painful.  I still go to my chiropractor occasionally, but going to a PT was so helpful!

Today, I went to the YMCA to work out.  They have a "track" but you have to run 14.5 laps for 1 mile.  So, after 1 boring mile of counting (and tight shins, for some reason) I decided to jump on the treadmill for the other 2 (and the tight shins disappeared).  But there were no TVs or music - or even a fan to keep me cool.  After I finally got to 3 miles, I went downstairs and did some arm/shoulder machines.  Felt great.  Boy, my arms are wimpy though!
