After my run on Monday I could hardly even walk around the house that day and the next, and yesterday wasn't much better. On Wednesday, my daughter's physical therapist said it is probably bursitis. She said it could be from the pregnancy and the readjusting of my joints, or my low back being so far out of alignment while exercising. She recommended anti-inflammatory meds (if approved by the dr.) and the SuperFeet insoles. I think I'll try the insoles and ibuprofen. I'm going to readjust my training even more - like Lybi had wanted me to from the very beginning (don't you hate it when little sisters are right!?! grrr) So, I'm going to walk/run a mile and keep any running VERY slow 3 days a week. Once I can do this without pain in my hip or knees, then I will keep it at one mile a day for 6 days a week. Then I will slowly increase after that. Considering this schedule, I'm going to shoot for a later 5K race. Instead of Sept 22, I found another one on October 20 and hopefully my body will be ready by then. |
