I have the worst church time now that the new year has rolled around. 2:30, so i decided I would get in some  treadmill time. I think that if I skip days I may get out of prctice again.

I have some small shin splints today so I walked .25 then ran .25.  I just had a goal of 40 minutes today. I read that 30 minutes maintains weight and 40 and more will help you lose weight. I thought I would push it to 40. I was done at 30 today but I have not slept good the last two night and I am so tired.

Thanks for your suport guys!

If you are getting a shin splint allready you probably need new shoes or your shoes are to small. They need to have a thumbs width between your big toe and the end of the shoe. Ice after your workout and see if you can get your husband to massage them out as deep as you can stand. this will help and do it everyday until you can't feel them anymore.

I have pretty new shoes and they are a size 8.5 and I wear a 7 or 7.5 depending on the shoe. I am blamming the shin splints on running outside. I didn't have them until Saterday and it was a short run, but alot of uphill and down hill slops nothing flat. Also I was so worried about slipping I think I may have been running really stiff.

How many miles should I have on my shoes?

The size should be good. It could have been the differant terrian. You should be able to get between 600-700 miles out of a pair of shoes, more if you switch them with another pair.
