Seth and I graduated from BYU April 2007. Our beautiful son Simeon was born that May. I started running again in June with the encouragement of Seth and Lybi. Seth, Lybi, Laura, and their mom are the ones who really keep me running :P

I was a bum today and didn't go running. After the crazy and wild family reunion, the elliptical machine is mysteriously broken. So now if I want to go running I have to go outside. It's not always easy to find someone to take care of the baby during a time when its cool enough outside to run. But that's not really my excuse today. My real excuse is just that I was too tired to go running today. The baby had a grumpy day and didn't really go down for a long nap. That means no nap for me either. So I just said I don't want to go running. Seth and I went for a nice walk in the park though.

I really appreciate Sarah's comment though. I'm always glad to know that there is still hope for me to lose weight. Seth says that us women like to just get around and justify our lack of weight loss, but really it's nice to know that I haven't reached the point of no return yet :)

Tomorrow the family reunion will be over so hopefully things will be calm enough again that Seth's mom can take the baby while we go running.

Kristina, I don't know you, but, may I offer some thoughts. I would suggest a positive montra, not slow and steady. Think of something you can always rely on. I will succeed, I am a winner, something you can rely on everyday. I was 30lbs overweight when I started running. If you cannot run, do an exercise machine, do situps, stretching, walk as fast as you can. Do something everyday to reinforce your will to win, succeed, etc. The will to win means nothing without the will to train. If you are sitting on the couch, play the game of lifting hand weights during commercials, situps. Think about all the idle time you can take advantage of.

Be positive, you will reach your goals, one day at a time. By the way, have you heard of power foods. They are certain foods that take more calories for your body to digest than are in the foods. The two the work best for me are watermelon and cantelope. No positive calories. Give it a try.
