I started running in the fall of 2007. I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.
Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014. My favorite PRs: 2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22. 2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15
Short-Term Running Goals:
Long-Term Running Goals:
Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.
Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!
On running and on life.....
On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

Personal:
Going to St. George? Bag the hotel and stay in one of our condos instead!
I ran 4 miles with Tom. After getting the kids off to school I went out for my wogging date with Stacie. Got one in there. Then I decided to head off and get a few more on my own. Just as I started out I saw Beth and went 3 walking with her. So I have put in 8 miles today, but I am going to count the four with them as one running mile. I feel good, I was able to have some husband time, friend time, moon time and sun time. Oh, and I can't forget wind time....definitely wind time!
I decided to run a different route today to try to make it more exciting since I had to go alone. It was OK, but I had a bad side stitch the first 2 miles. It finally eased up in the 3rd but was faintly there throughout the whole run. Not much excitement, except a couple dogs in one yard looked and acted like they would rip me to pieces if they were able to get through their fence. I was feeling quite happy that we had the fence between us! I ended up by Heartbreak Hill towards the end so I went halfway down and back up 2 times. No unwanted aches and pains today except for the side stitch. Tom says every run is a great run, I say this one was an OK run.
Six out in the early, mild morning with Tom. I need to be more trusting of the temps. When it is in the 40s I still get nervous if the sun is not shining so I always overdress! Could have been in shorts like Tom was. It felt really good this morning. Did a few striders and some hills. I love the improvement I have seen since I started running again last September.
I also went out on my wogging date with Stacie just now. We do a mile, about 1/2 of it running. So I will add the running .5 to my miles. I can already see a difference with her ability in the few times we have gone out. We are going to open up this wogging date to all the ladies in our ward and try to get more of them out doing a healthy morning routine. So maybe next week we will have more of a crowd.
Ran 5.25 with Tom. He put in a few more after I was done. I really wanted to get at least one more with the way I was feeling, but I needed to get home and in the shower so everyone would have shower time this morning. I can usually wait to get in the shower later, but have to leave earlier than usual today.
When I got home we had the weekly email from our missionary waiting for us! He has been gone 13 months! He had a great report for this week with lots of happy news except one minor loss of a fingertip with a vegetable slicer. Said it kind of ruined his spaghetti, but not to worry.
I think I can, I think I can, I think I can........
Update: I knew I could and I did! Thanks Tom and Bonnie for the confidence!
Great run actually! I decided that since I was such a wimp at trying to get out today that I was going to work hard once I got out there. I feel like I did that. I had three hills along my route today, (not Heartbreak Hill). On each hill I went up and down it 2 times. Also on the 4th mile I decided I would try to keep up with the 8:55 guy. I ended up keeping up with the 8:37 guy! That is my goal, to be able to keep up with the guy in the 8:30s for an extended amount of miles. Someday down the road that will happen! I haven't written my mile paces in for awhile, so I will today. 9:24, 9:14, 9:44, 8:37, 9:44, 9:32
Tom and I had a very enjoyable run down in Manti this morning! We were happy the temps weren't as bad as predicted. No rain, wind or dogs. Just lots of up hill, including up the temple hill and behind into some fun areas we haven't ran before.
Spent the rest of the day going through Tom's parent's house. Lots of memories, lots of stuff for the thrift store, lots of stuff for the dumpster! I feel like we have accomplished a lot today.
Felt bad to miss our daughter, Tani's, piano festival. She scored superior on both songs! Great job Tani!
