Towards the end of yesterday's run I started feeling a pain in my right foot. It hurt on the top and around the inside and down throughout the arch. I didn't think much more about it because it didn't hurt the rest of the day while I was walking. But this morning it hurt from the very first step. I kept at the back of the pack to see if keeping it slow would help me be able to get my 20 miles in today. Neldon had an Aleve for me to take at about 8 miles. It really helped my foot, but my IT band on my left leg was hurting. I think it was because I was altering my stride because of the foot. As I continued on I felt I better head back home a little earlier than planned. It scares me to do something that will stop me from running SGM. I have worked so hard this year, I can't imagine how I would feel if I were to do damage enough that would keep me from running the marathon. I hope the rest day tomorrow will really help me out. Neldon was telling me about a little contraption that him and his wife are trying out. It sends charges through your body and is suppose to help with all kind of things. Him and his wife have been using it this week and he has done much better with his 'bone on bone' knee that has really been a bother to him. He said that I can probably come down later and try it out to see if it helps me out a bit. I am willing to give it a try. He seems pretty excited about it. |
