Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

I could feel Tom awake a little earlier than I prefer to wake up, but since we were now both awake we decided to get going on the day.  We were welcomed outside by our lovely friend who is the new W.   Instead of WOW, (warriors of winter) we are back to WOW, (warriors of WIND)!  We figure Mother Nature is just helping us get tougher by adding a good dose of resistance to part of our run!

Are there any American Idol fans out there?  Tonight I think it is the end of the line for Jason or Brooke.  I hope Brooke gets at least one more chance.  I'm OK if dreadlocks goes home.  It better come down to both of the Davids as #1 and #2.  They both deserve to win.

Also, for any Biggest Loser fans.  While we were at Disneyland we saw Mark.  He looked great.  It's amazing what all of those people were able to accomplish!

Just in case you think I watch every reality show on TV, I don't.  I watch Am. Idol mostly.  Biggest Loser a bit and none of the others!  I also love to watch the Jazz!  Especially now that it's playoffs!

I hope you all have a good day today.  And I hope it rains a bit for us.  April showers bring May flowers.  I'm tired of snow, but I love springtime rain!

You're having a FAB week and got over "hump" day sucessfully! I saw the last few episodes of biggest loser, it was awesome. But as for me, I'm with you- its all about THE JAZZ right now!!!

From Lybi on Wed, Apr 23, 2008 at 15:47:21

Great job, Kim! I think Tom must be the luckiest guy alive to have married a basketball enthusiast. I can't stand the cacophony of watching professional ball sports. Constant noise! Makes me want to claw my ears off, or I guess I could just turn off the TV. That'd work too. (Poor James, I know.)

From Tom on Wed, Apr 23, 2008 at 15:51:26

Lybi it is great to have Kim passionate about Jazz basketball, she's probably a bigger fan than I am.

Now if we could just channel a bit of that passion toward BYU football.... :)

The primary annoyance about football is how long the games take. Geez! After watching a game of football I feel like someone owes me big money for taking 4 whole hours of my life and giving absolutely nothing (except possibly a flat spot on my keister) back.

From Tom on Wed, Apr 23, 2008 at 16:02:53

Just think of a 4 hour football game like running a marathon and a 2 hour or so basketball game like running a 1/2 marathon. They are both enjoyable and the marathon takes more endurance but is ultimately more rewarding in the end.

From Lybi on Wed, Apr 23, 2008 at 16:05:43

You can't blog about watching a football game, though. And absolutely no kudos!

From Tom on Wed, Apr 23, 2008 at 16:11:07

Lybi I beg to differ on the blogging about football point. To back me up I just did a quick google on "byu football blog" with enlightening results. Here are just a sampling of the links that showed up:

Kim - BTW sorry your blog got hijacked with the football debate :)

From Kim on Wed, Apr 23, 2008 at 16:13:07

Lybi, I agree on the length of a football game! That is exactly why I can't get into it. I can handle the last few minutes, or better yet, the highlights on the news. I never even know where the ball is. Basketball, now that keeps you interested! Football... 3 or 4 scores per four hours! Basketball... many more points per 2 hours! I do try once in a while to enjoy BYU football, but I guess I just don't "get it"!

From Lybi on Wed, Apr 23, 2008 at 16:14:03

Losers! What a waste of time! A much more convincing point would be to say that you can't consume chips and guacamole during a marathon. That is truly unfortunate.

From Kim on Wed, Apr 23, 2008 at 16:14:44

Tom comes from a true blue family! It's a little hard on him that 2 of our 3 boys are Utah fans. As for me...red and blue make purple which just happens to be my favorite color!

From Lybi on Wed, Apr 23, 2008 at 16:15:04

Oops! I should clarify that the people who blog about football are losers. You and Tom are awesome. He he.

From Jon on Wed, Apr 23, 2008 at 16:15:34

Football rocks- with every play, the score could drastically change. With basketball, it's a slow (very slow) change.

From Kim on Wed, Apr 23, 2008 at 16:19:02

Lybi, thanks for the clarification on who are losers!

From Mik'L on Wed, Apr 23, 2008 at 19:41:03

Good job getting out in the wind today...I hate the wind! I must say I love a good football game. And I'll have to side with Tom...I'm a Cougar fan. I love college football! I even liked some pro football this year. I like March madness when it comes to basketball, but the NBA really lost my interest a few years back. I loved it growing up though. I don't mind a good Red Sox game either!
