Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

 Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

Today is the nine month mark for our son who is serving a mission in Japan.  I am looking forward to a special call on Christmas from the land of the rising sun!

Here are my current daily mileage goals.

Bronze=4 miles

Silver=4.5

Gold=5

Long run once a week= 8 and above as I work for the Painter's half on Jan. 19.

Today I hit gold.  Average pace 10:38.   Felt great.

I smiled at everybody I passed today.  It's fun to watch reactions of people when you do that.  It's amazing how we just don't smile and wave as often anymore.

Great job getting out in the weather! How exciting to get to hear from your son in a few weeks.

I agree with you regarding peoples reactions when you smile or say hi. They just do not know what to think.

Hi Kim, I wrote to you on my blog and then saw you already had answered my question (regarding upcoming races)on your blog! Good job on your mileage today!!

I can't even imagine how much you must miss your son, I am glad Christmas is coming and you will be getting a most special gift.

Regarding the smiles -- it can really make someones day to be kind (and conversely ruin someones day when we are rude and thoughtless). I try to remember this when I am in a bad mood and everyone annoys me ;-)

We often do the same, say hi and wave, about a 50% response. My son-in-law ran a long run with me and we decided to say looking good to each runner. We really got some odd looks.
