Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

Four miles with my good little running buddy, Rui!  A great little partner, I just wish I didn't have to carry a clean up bag for him.  He is a Silky Terrier and only has about 5 inch long legs, but he carries me through 4 miles easily.  However, he is curled up in a ball at my feet right now having a nap.  I actually had my whole entry written a minute ago and hit some wrong button that sent it off to never never land.  So if for some reason you see two entries of mine that look similar, it is because they both found there way to the site.  I looked for the other one and couldn't see it though.  Oh well.

Tom and I have a Japanese boy coming to stay with us for a week.  We pick him up at BYU tonight.  Our family is very excited to have him come.  Especially since Tom served a mission in Japan and our oldest boy is now serving in Tokyo.  We are hoping to give him some great American experiences while he is here.  If anyone has an idea of something he might like to do, (preferably in Utah County), we would love to hear your ideas.

For my records, here are my miles.

11:17     10:57      10:24    10:43

Thanks to all you bloggers for helping me through the last half mile.  Thinking of reporting to you  helped me make it to the end!

Good job! Those mile times seems to be sneaking down, I'm seeing more and more splits starting with '10' lately it seems.

And I must say I'm impressed with Rui, I wouldn't have thought he could do this type workout without major hassles. Maybe I'll have to give him a shot at some 7 or 8 min miles sometime and see how he does. But I'm kinda glad I haven't had to carry a 'clean up bag' for any of my running buddies.

Golly Kim I'm jealous, you just barely joined the blog but your Monthly Visitors count is already higher than mine!

I think your pace is dropping and it WILL continue to if you stay at the 5 days a week running plan. Someday Rui (and Tom, perhaps) won't be able to keep up!

For the Japanese visitor, I would suggest taking him to Sundance and to BYU. They have free tours on a golf cart type thing. It's great.
