Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

I decided to try to sleep a little longer again this morning instead of going out with Tom.  When I was getting ready to go out alone I was wishing I was already done.  But once I got out there and got going it went quite well.  Although rather hot to me with the sun shinning down on me.  I used the prewrap.  I thought it might bother me to have it on, but it didn't.  I felt a few twinges on my knee but nothing that made me feel like I had to stop.

(9:07 ave.)

Happy birthday to our sweet ray of sunshine, Tani!  Eleven years old today!  She was born about 15 minutes after we reached the hospital.  It was quite an exciting middle of the night activity!  She has kept us entertained right from the beginning!  Love you Tani

Kim I'm really, really glad to hear the run went well today. I think you're going to be just fine for SGM!

From Teena on Tue, Sep 16, 2008 at 12:23:03

Yahoo!!! I am so happy for you Kim. I know exactly the "twinges" you are talking about. You are going to do AWESOME at SG!! Can't wait to see how the rest of the week turns out for you. I am so so excited!! Still ... don't push it!! Keep icing, massaging, stretching, you know the routine. Nice run!! :)

Great to hear about your run. My IT band has been driving my nuts, but up at my hip. Yoga has helped a ton. Maybe Josse knows some poses that can help too. Have a fun birthday at your house :) I have an 11 year old daughter too :) It's a fun age.

Great job today. I am so excited for you and SG You will do fabulously. We officially finished the kitchen on Saturday. but I still haven't figured out how to get a picture posted.

I also have an 11 year old - his birthday was the 13th and he was born about 45 min after we got to the birth center. Funny.

So, I'm curious about this prewrap? Where did you get it?

From Cal on Tue, Sep 16, 2008 at 15:37:40

That's good that you were able to run today. Just keep up the treatments, you'll be just fine!

(nice new avatar!)

Tom:

I'm sure you are happy that things went well because we all know "if Kim ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!" :o)

Teena:

Thank you, thank you, thank you again! I hope we have found the answer to my IT band woes! BTW: Who's "smooth"?

Marion:

I guess I'm going to have to check out this yoga stuff. Everyone seems to really like it!

Paula:

I'm so happy you finally have a completed kitchen! I'll bet you are loving it!

Leslie:

Thank you from me and thank you from Tani!

Lisa:

Teena is the one who told me about prewrap. Go to pre-wrap.com to check it out.

Cal:

Thank you. And is an avatar the picture? Duh on my part I'm sure! BTW: I think that is you in the background of my picture. Cal the Ultradent champion! So did you win the extra big bucks on Monday when you went back to work?

From Cal on Tue, Sep 16, 2008 at 17:32:23

Yeah, that's me in the background. (BTW, I didn't win the $1500 grand prize drawing. I only received the $100 1st place prize.)

Kim -- Smooth is an amazingly perfect 52-years-young (although she looks like she's about 30) friend of mine. Actually, she's more of a kindred spirit or sister to me. You would LOVE her. She has an amazing lifestory. She is a convert from Hong Kong. I met her during the Ogden Marathon in 2007 - we ran together for several miles without getting each others names. We later both started chatting on a running forum and were getting advice from the same people (Cal helped both Smooth and I -- that's how I know Cal). We then became good friends on the forum but still didn't realize that we knew each other until she posted a picture. Imagine my shock!! Like I said, my kindred spirit.

Okay, so far: PreWrap - 2, ITBS - big fat 0!!!

Hope you are having a great day!!

From Teena on Tue, Sep 16, 2008 at 18:45:49

Btw, Smooth's real name is Susanna! Lots of us just call her Smooth!
