Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

Well, I was able to break 24 today!  Yippee!  I'm not quite sure I would have been able to do it without Coach Tom pacing me!  I may have found reasons to slow down if I would have been on my own.  They didn't have any awards.  In fact, the only way to know your time was to listen very carefully as you crossed the finish line as the kid spoke it very softly.  Everyone with me declared me the winner of my age division since I was probably the oldest female running it.  Oh well, it was also free!   My brother, Jeremy, was able to knock a few minutes off of his time...so congrats Jer!

Kim, is this not a PR? Under 24, big improvement from Heart of Hollady. 200 commando points for the PR, 100 commando points to Coach Tom.

Stay Kool, faster and faster, B of BS Rools out

I am amazed at the race organization abilities of Sanpete county. . . .

Nice PR on breaking 24.

Congratulations on a sub 24! I'm hoping for a sub 30 one day this next year.

From marion on Fri, Jul 04, 2008 at 21:44:12

Yeah! You did it! A great day!! Did you ROAST?

From Sasha Pachev on Fri, Jul 04, 2008 at 23:02:17

I assume you verified the length of the course. If so, congratulations on the PR and making the non-boltushka standard.

With good mileage and consistent training you might be able to align the stars to get BQ in St. George.

From Kim on Fri, Jul 04, 2008 at 23:35:52

Sasha,

The course was actually .12 short. My official time was 22:55. We added a minute for the extra length. I don't know if that is a true PR on a situation like that. Tom and I both had our Garmins on and they both measured the course to be 2.98. My last mile was 7:20 and I had a little kick at the end so I feel like I would have been able to keep the pace for the last .12. What is your take on the situation.

Oooops...here's a ? for that last sentence in case there are any grammar police out there. :)

Good Job Kim on your PR! You are getting some great training in and are going to really tear it up at SG!

From Christi on Sat, Jul 05, 2008 at 12:51:15

Yay Kim!!! I can really appreciate this achievement 'cause I'm dying to get under 24 min. myself! And to think you did it in the HOT HOT summer time- WAY TO GO!!!!!!!

From leslie peterson on Sat, Jul 05, 2008 at 23:15:26

Way to go Kim!!! Congrats on your PR!!!!!

From Terry on Sun, Jul 06, 2008 at 17:59:26

I knew you had a faster 5K in you. Great job! Remember to not be disappointed like Tom when you can't get a PR every race.

From Lybi on Mon, Jul 07, 2008 at 10:06:28

YEEEEE-Haw! Great race, Kim! Congratulations on a sweeeet PR!

From Sunny on Mon, Jul 07, 2008 at 17:13:38

Great Race for you Kim! You are doing so great! Our home town 5K was timed by a cell phone so we had to go off of Dustin's garmin for both time and distance. The race was a bit long rather than short. But Congrats on the awesome time anyway!
